Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner will host a town hall with former President Donald Trump on October 16, focusing exclusively on women’s issues, with an audience made up entirely of women. This event provides Trump’s campaign a platform to address concerns from women, a demographic where he has struggled to gain as much support as he has from men.
“Women are the largest group of registered and active voters in the U.S., and it’s critical that female voters understand where the candidates stand on issues that impact them most,” Faulkner said. She added that the event would allow viewers to hear Trump’s stance on key issues without distortion from left-leaning media. The town hall will be held at Reid Barn in Cumming, GA, and will air on The Faulkner Focus.
The discussion is expected to cover topics like the economy, abortion, immigration, and healthcare—issues of great importance to women voters. Trump will have a chance to delve into these matters directly, aiming to narrow the gender gap that has plagued his campaign. According to Politico, the Trump team has struggled to make inroads with female voters, and recent polling shows a significant lead for Kamala Harris among women, with a Times/Siena survey putting Harris ahead by 16 points nationally. Meanwhile, Trump maintains a strong lead among male voters.
Fox News extended an invitation to Kamala Harris for a similar town hall, but her campaign has yet to respond.
The Harris campaign has also faced challenges in courting men, with a PAC run by former Obama staffers struggling to connect with this demographic. Even former President Obama voiced concerns that Harris’s gender might deter some men from voting for her, particularly in the Black community.
