When Is Enough… Enough (Part 2)

Last installment, Part 1, dealt with two areas where, really…when are we finally realizing we’ve put with enough nonsense? As you remember, these areas are the invasion coming across what used to be our southern border, and what is left of a once vibrant economy. The third area, or Part 2 rather, is the ever-increasing problem of government overreach.

There exists a library’s worth of material already available on this subject, so it would be ridiculous to try and delve into it at any real length. Instead, I want to look at just a few of the more recent egregious examples.

By now, most of us political news junkies have encountered the term “gaslighting”. The term is originally from a 1938 British play (later a movie in Britian in 1940 and in the U.S. in 1944), in which a deceitful husband attempts to drive his wife insane by convincing her she is a kleptomaniac imagining that the sounds in the house and the dimming gaslights are really her imagination. He is actually trying to find her aunt’s missing valuable jewelry.

The term has come to define any attempt to psychologically manipulate people (even an entire population) into believing things contrary to what they’re actually seeing and/or experiencing; question the motive of anyone who challenges the official narrative; and dismiss the perceptions and even feelings of those who are being manipulated. This goes well beyond plain bold-faced lying and takes propaganda to an almost personal level.

B. Hussein Obama is an expert at using gaslighting to cover up government overreach. Remember: “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor?”…and…”If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance?”

“But people who never had insurance before now have insurance,” they said.

So…why is that my problem or even my issue in the first place…?

“But, don’t you care about people who never had….”

Listen, people have never before been forced to purchase a product from a government-approved third party, with failure to do so resulting in fines and possible criminal penalties.

Another prime example is our nationwide school system. Education is no longer education. Indoctrination now replaces the structural foundation of learning that used to be the primary goal. Instead, we have classes in gender pronouns;; diversity/inclusion/equity; CRT; the anti-American 1619 Project (racism); drag queen story hour; etc., etc. All of which is by design to create a new generation of people incapable of sustaining themselves, who will be wholly dependent on government hand outs.

Critical thinking…the ability to ask “how” and “why” and to develop problem-solving skills…is being replaced by a form of Marxism that demands conformity to the approved narrative du jour.

The best example of this very mindset as it exists outside of educational institutions was the response to COVID (i.e. The Great Wuhan Kungflu Overreaction). There’s no need to take the time or space here to rehash all that went down. We lived it…we know. We remember and we should never forget what they did to us. This was government overreach never before seen. More lives were ruined by the so-called response to COVID than by the actual virus. Major health agencies such as the CDC and WHO no longer have the credibility or clout they once had. Nor should they ever be allowed to regain their previous status. How can we ever trust them again? And sadly, how can we even trust some of our local medical providers after their participation in the COVID lunacy?

There is an old fortune cookie cliche’: “May you live in interesting times.” That has now turned into a prophetic statement. These last couple of months have been a culmination of gaslighting and attempting to cover up and obfuscate the Left’s claim and desire for power, position, prestige, and privilege.

They’ve overplayed their hand this time. We know we’ve been lied to about Biden’s health and ability. We know they’re going to attempt to steal the election. We know there’s a “deep state” of unelected, over-educated bureaucrats who really despise us, and we know they want us to believe what they call the new normal is reality.

In conclusion…I want to say that President Trump was brilliant during the debate. All he had to do was stand back and let Biden ramble and go off script. By being more disciplined than ever expected, Trump proved to the nation just how gaslighted we’ve been. They know we’re on to them. They don’t like it and can’t even admit it.

The interesting times we’re living in are just beginning.
