On Thursday, Donald Trump announced plans to establish a Government Efficiency Commission to conduct a comprehensive audit and financial analysis of the federal government. He committed to this initiative after it was suggested to him during an X Space discussion with Elon Musk last month.
“I will create a Government Efficiency Commission tasked with conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government — and making recommendations for drastic reforms,” Trump stated. He credited Elon Musk with inspiring the idea for the commission.
During his speech focused on economic issues, Trump criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for the Biden-Harris administration’s policies and blamed them for the inflationary pressures affecting the United States during her time in office.
