Trump campaign proposes 10 questions for Kamala’s first interview

Ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’ upcoming interview with CNN on Thursday—her first since being named the Democratic presidential candidate to replace President Biden—Donald Trump’s campaign has issued a list of questions they believe CNN’s Dana Bash should ask. Harris will be joined by her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, during the interview.

The proposed questions from Trump’s campaign focus on Harris’ current role in the White House, questioning why she hasn’t already addressed issues she now promises to fix if elected.

One suggested question reads, “If you are capable of lowering prices for Americans, why haven’t you done it in the 3 1/2 years you have been in office?” Another question asks, “You say housing affordability would be a ‘Day One priority’ if you were elected. Why is it not a priority now?”

1. If you are capable of lowering prices for Americans, why haven’t you done it in the 3½ years you have been in office?

2. You say housing affordability would be a “Day One priority” if you were elected. Why is it not a priority now?

3. You co-sponsored Medicare-for-All and the Green New Deal. Do you still support these multi-trillion-dollar takeovers of the American economy?

4. You talk a lot about “freedom.” What about the freedoms of Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and Jocelyn Nungaray?

5. President Trump didn’t need a “border bill” to secure the border. Why did you support executive actions like stopping construction of the border wall and halting deportations that intentionally unsecured the border?

6. Trump was the first president in decades to start no new wars. Under your watch, wars are popping up in Europe and the Middle East. Why is that?

7. Why did you conceal Joe Biden’s cognitive decline from the American people?

8. You supported the Defund the Police movement and have said more that police doesn’t mean more safety. Why do you want fewer police officers?

9. You’ve called for getting rid of cash bail and your campaign hasn’t backed away from it. Why do you still support such a radical view?

10. You have sent anonymous aides out to claim you’ve abandoned the radically liberal positions that you’ve held for decades.

The campaign also wants Harris to be asked about her past support for significant policy initiatives, with one proposed question stating, “You co-sponsored Medicare-for-All and the Green New Deal. Do you still support these multi-trillion-dollar takeovers of the American economy?” Another question touches on public safety: “You talk a lot about ‘freedom.’ What about the freedoms of Laken Riley, Rachel Morin, and Jocelyn Nungaray? These women were killed by illegal immigrants who were let into the country under your watch.”

Additional questions include:

  • “Why did you support executive actions like stopping construction of the border wall and halting deportations that intentionally unsecured the border?”
  • “Under your watch, wars are popping up in Europe and the Middle East. Why is that?”
  • “Why did you conceal Joe Biden’s cognitive decline from the American people?”
  • “Why do you want fewer police officers?”
  • “You’ve called for getting rid of cash bail and your campaign hasn’t backed away from it. Why do you still support such a radical view?”
  • “You have sent anonymous aides out to claim you’ve abandoned the radically liberal positions that you’ve held for decades. Do you think lying to the American people is the best strategy?”

The Trump campaign also speculated on the timing of Harris’ interview, suggesting it was strategically scheduled for the Thursday night before Labor Day weekend to minimize viewership.

“It’s no coincidence that Kamala’s first interview is scheduled for the Thursday night before Labor Day weekend. They already hope it gets lost—and it hasn’t even aired yet. Kamala is clearly scared to do an interview on her own, and it’s pre-taped so they can clean it up,” the Trump campaign stated.

Additionally, the Trump campaign offered unsolicited advice to the Harris-Walz team, suggesting they create and post a detailed policy page since, according to them, her current website lacks substantial information.
