Brandon Herrera, former Congressional candidate, a firearms enthusiast, and prominent “GunTube” content creator posted a video on Monday after the attempted assassination of President Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Herrera is known for his recreations of Presidential assassinations — his video of Joe Rogan’s JFK bullet theory is the most popular video on his channel with over 11 million views and the video testing the gun that killed Abraham Lincoln has been viewed over 10 million times — called it an “emergency gun meme review” and explained that the memes had hit the mainstream.
Delivered with his conversational style and sense of humor, Herrera pulls some of the best memes that were circulating after that now-dead soy boy miraculously missed killing Trump from less than 150 yards away.
After the attempted assassination of a former President and current Presidential front-runner, Americans were sharing memes as a way to process the significant event that could have ended much differently if Trump hadn’t tilted his head.
Herrera’s video isn’t all fun and games (and mocking the intelligence of journos), he did cover some pretty important stuff in there, including mentioning the official GoFundMe set up for the victims and families.
He also spoke about the shooter using some pretty blunt language.
But the main thing was about 2/3 of the way in. Herrera talks about the thing that rocked GunTubers last Saturday — the shooter was wearing a Demolition Ranch t-shirt. Demolition Ranch is another popular YouTube channel focused on firearms with skits, show shooting, and reviews.
Some members of the media who are very concerned about “misinformation” and “disinformation” are now irresponsibly calling an apolitical gun-loving YouTube channel a “rightwing extremist militia” because some unhinged rando who wanted to take out the guy that the media labeled Hitler 2.0 ordered an easily recognizable shirt online. It’s disgusting and Herrera gives them the verbal drubbing that they deserve.
Matt Carriker who runs the Demolition Ranch YouTube channel posted a video about the shooter wearing his merch.
Herrera ends the video with a few more memes and proposes how he might handle the Trump assassination attempt as one of his signature recreation videos as requests pour in.
