Ilhan Omar Utterly Collapses

House Republicans have opened a probe into the finances of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s husband (D-MN) after disclosures showed her family businesses exploded in value in a single year.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) announced Friday that his panel is investigating Timothy Mynett, a political consultant and entrepreneur married to the Minnesota Democrat.

Comer sent a letter demanding financial records tied to Rose Lake Capital LLC, a consulting firm run by Mynett, and eStCru LLC, a wine business in which Omar holds a stake.

According to Omar’s federal financial disclosures, Rose Lake Capital was valued between $51,000 and $250,000 in 2023 before jumping to a range of $5 million to $25 million in 2024.

At the low end, that would represent a 1,900 percent increase in just one year based on the minimum reported values.

The growth at eStCru LLC followed a similar pattern, with the wine company rising from a valuation of $15,000 to $50,000 in 2023 to between $1 million and $5 million in 2024.

Comer said the combined figures suggest Omar’s family businesses may have gone from roughly $51,000 to as much as $30 million in a single year.

That jump would amount to a 58,723 percent increase if the chairman’s calculations are correct.

“I’m demanding financial information from companies linked to Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s husband,” Comer wrote on social media. “His companies reportedly went from $51K to $30 MILLION in one year with zero investor information.”

Comer added that the committee wants to know who is funding the businesses and whether anyone is buying political access through the sudden growth.

The probe comes as President Donald Trump has repeatedly alleged massive fraud tied to public service contracts in Minnesota, per the Daily Mail.

Trump has said up to $19 billion may have been stolen through fraudulent schemes, prompting investigations by the DOJ, FBI, IRS, Department of Homeland Security, and the House Oversight Committee.

Federal authorities have noted that some of the alleged fraud involved members of Minnesota’s Somali community, which has drawn political attention due to Omar’s background.

In his letter, Comer cited Rose Lake Capital’s website, which claims the firm is staffed by former diplomats with experience across dozens of countries.

Comer noted the site lists no specific employees, advisors, or asset portfolios, prompting requests for internal documents and communications.

Mynett’s wine business has also faced scrutiny before, including a 2024 report alleging an investor was swindled at a California winery.

Omar has been a frequent target of the Trump administration and was recently labeled a “scammer” by the President in a social media post.

Trump also accused Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) of corruption after the Democrat dropped his re-election campaign amid expanding fraud investigations.
