FBI Probes Mysterious US Deaths

Federal investigators are reviewing a series of deaths and disappearances involving scientists connected to U.S. aerospace, defense, and energy programs after members of Congress demanded answers.

According to the report, at least 11 researchers linked to organizations such as NASA, SpaceX, and Blue Origin have died or gone missing since 2022. Authorities have not confirmed that the cases are connected.

The issue gained momentum after the House Oversight Committee requested information from several federal agencies.

Committee Chairman James Comer and Representative Eric Burlison sent letters to FBI Director Kash Patel, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman requesting staff briefings by April 27.

The lawmakers said that if reports are accurate, the deaths and disappearances could pose a serious national security concern involving people with access to sensitive scientific information.

Comer publicly said he did not believe the pattern was coincidence.

He stated that once the facts are reviewed, “something sinister could be happening” and Congress considers the matter a priority.

The White House later acknowledged the reports.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said if the claims were true, the administration would consider the matter worth investigating.

President Donald Trump later told reporters he had just left a meeting on the subject and called it “pretty serious stuff.” He said answers could come within “the next week and a half.”

Patel later confirmed the FBI is leading a broader review.

He said investigators are examining whether any of the individuals had access to classified information and whether foreign actors may be involved.

Patel added that if evidence points to criminal conspiracy or nefarious conduct, arrests would follow.

The FBI also said it is coordinating with the Department of Energy, the Defense Department, and state and local law enforcement partners, per the Conservative Brief.

NASA issued a statement saying it is cooperating fully and that nothing currently indicates a national security threat related to NASA itself.

The report noted that congressional interest extends beyond NASA into the broader commercial space and defense sector.

Many of the individuals reportedly worked in specialized fields such as planetary defense, missile detection, asteroid tracking, nuclear systems, and advanced aerospace technologies.

Those sectors involve a relatively small number of experts, making repeated losses more noticeable.

The report also referenced Blue Origin’s March 2026 NEO Hunter concept, developed with Jet Propulsion Laboratory and California Institute of Technology.

That program reportedly involves ion-beam deflection and kinetic impact systems that share principles with missile interception technologies.

At this stage, there is no public evidence proving the cases are linked.

The FBI investigation now centers on whether that pattern is coincidence, criminal activity, or foreign targeting.
