BREAKING: Donald J. Trump wins Texas: report

Donald Trump has been declared the winner of Texas in the 2024 presidential election, securing a crucial 40 electoral votes as he pushes toward the 270 needed to win the presidency.

Fox News called the race shortly before 9:15 pm, with 57 percent of the votes counted. Trump captured 53.9 percent of the vote, compared to 44.9 percent for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.

In addition to Texas, Trump has also claimed victories in Florida and Ohio. Florida, a key battleground state, adds 30 electoral votes to his tally, while Ohio contributes 17.

These wins boost Trump’s total to 177 electoral votes, putting him ahead of Harris, who currently holds 99.

Trump’s success on election night includes winning states like Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, and South Carolina.

Meanwhile, Harris has secured traditional Democratic strongholds such as New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, among others.

This victory in Texas mirrors Trump’s performance in 2020, when he won the state with 52.1 percent of the vote against Joe Biden’s 46.5 percent.

As results continue to come in from across the country, the battle for the White House remains fierce, with both candidates eyeing the remaining electoral prizes that could swing the election.
