Just about the only thing he spoke well of in this cluster**** was the willingness of his protective detail to ‘make themselves big’ and shield their protectee. That takes guts, and is the opposite of everything our instincts would have us to in a dangerous situation. Full kudos for that.
The OTHER stuff, on the other hand, he is not so quick to praise it.
He covers a litany of failure points, from the on-the-ground questions, to the staffing numbers, to how such an obvious strike point was left untended, to policy priorities right at the top, like making a federal case about agents wearing red ties.
Add that to other issues we’ve been hearing about, like DEI hiring priorities and serious deficiencies in hours of training, it seems as if it was a question of ‘when’ not ‘if’.
If this is the best the current leadership can do, she needs to be replaced with someone who can execute the duties without their protectees being executed while under their care.
