Ann Coulter Unveils Mistake Police Made Before Viral That ‘Teen Takeover’ Vid Took X by Storm

A South Carolina police department is facing intense scrutiny after a female officer was violently attacked by a swarm of teenagers during a Fourth of July celebration, with the disturbing footage now circulating across social media platforms nationwide.

The incident occurred Saturday night at a residential block party in North Charleston, where a routine police response to reports of celebratory gunfire spiraled into a physical confrontation between officers and a crowd of young people.

Officers were initially dispatched after receiving calls about firearms being discharged and fireworks being shot toward passing cars in the neighborhood.

Upon arrival, police were informed that several individuals at the gathering had already begun firing guns into the air, setting the stage for the violence that followed.

Video circulating online shows a female officer being struck in the face by a young woman as a male teenager simultaneously grabbed hold of her and forced her to the ground.

While the officer remained restrained, a second female attacker joined in, striking the pinned officer with an object that appeared to be a baton.

A backup officer intervened by shoving the woman wielding the baton away from the scene and physically restraining another teen who had taken part in the assault.

With tensions escalating and the crowd growing, the officer deployed his taser, prompting the group of assailants to disperse immediately.

Even after the taser was used, the teenage boy holding the female officer down refused to release her, forcing the second officer to press his knee into the boy’s chest until he finally loosened his grip.

Police then handcuffed the teen along with a second suspect while a large crowd of bystanders looked on and recorded the arrest.

In the aftermath, North Charleston police confirmed that officers searching the scene recovered several firearms in addition to a homemade spear-like weapon.

Police Chief Ron Camacho addressed the incident directly during a press briefing, revealing that two female officers suffered minor injuries in the assault but have since returned to active duty.

Camacho pushed back on the narrative forming around the viral video, telling reporters, “What you got on that social media, you’re looking at one little snippet, at one little video. We were out there for an extended period of time.”

According to police, four individuals were taken into custody in connection with the brawl — three of them minors and one adult — though Camacho indicated the investigation is far from finished.

He said additional arrests are expected as investigators continue combing through body camera footage collected from officers who responded to the scene.

The viral nature of the video quickly drew commentary from prominent conservative voices, including political commentator Ann Coulter, who criticized the decision to have a young female officer respond to the scene.

Writing on X, Coulter also called for the parents of the teens involved to be stripped of eligibility for federal assistance programs.

She added in her post, “But putting a small blonde woman in a police uniform is waving a red flag at the ‘teens’.”

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson also responded publicly, condemning the attack in a post on X shortly after the footage began spreading online.

Wilson wrote, “The violence we witnessed in North Charleston is unacceptable. There is no place in South Carolina for mob violence or attacks on law enforcement.”

He went on to state, “Anyone who assaults a police officer, fires a weapon into a crowd, or threatens public safety should be arrested, prosecuted, and held fully accountable. South Carolina is a state of law and order. We will not tolerate mob rule.”

The North Charleston Police Department issued its own formal statement following the incident, emphasizing that violence against officers would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The statement read, “Attacks on law enforcement are unacceptable and those responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The safety of our residents and visitors remains our highest priority.”

Police also extended thanks to attendees at the event who cooperated with officers throughout the chaotic night.

The department noted, “We appreciate the cooperation of the many attendees who complied with officers’ instructions.”

Authorities have withheld the identities of the juvenile suspects in accordance with standard procedures involving minors.

The investigation remains ongoing, with detectives continuing to analyze recovered weapons, witness statements, and additional camera footage from the surrounding area.
