Another Hollywood Star Tragically Passes Away

Amber Siyavus, best known for competing on Season 8 of CBS’ “Big Brother,” has died at the age of 46.

Siyavus died Friday, according to records from the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner in Nevada.

Her cause and manner of death are both still pending.

No additional details about the circumstances surrounding her death have been released.

Siyavus became a familiar face to reality television viewers after appearing on “Big Brother” in 2007.

During her time inside the house, she became known for her emotional personality and frequent tears, eventually earning the nickname “Whamber” from fans.

Despite the nickname, Siyavus built strong relationships with several of her fellow contestants during the season.

She developed especially close bonds with Jameka Cameron and Dustin Erikstrup.

Siyavus ultimately finished the competition in seventh place.

Her season remains one of the more memorable early installments of the long-running CBS reality franchise.

“Big Brother” places contestants inside a house where they live together under constant surveillance while competing in challenges, forming alliances and voting one another out.

Siyavus’ emotional reactions and close friendships helped make her stand out during the show.

Her death comes after her family had already endured a devastating loss years earlier.

In January 2018, Siyavus’ 18-year-old daughter, Lexi Tomcavage, died in Ohio.

Authorities investigated that death as an apparent suicide.

The loss drew renewed attention to Siyavus years after her appearance on “Big Brother.”

Now, nearly two decades after her reality TV debut, news of Siyavus’ own death has again brought her name back into the public eye.

The Nevada coroner has not yet determined what caused her death.

Both the cause and manner remain listed as pending, meaning additional examination or investigation is still underway before officials make a final determination.

There has also been no public indication of whether Siyavus had been dealing with any known medical issue before her death.

Her passing adds her to the list of former reality television personalities who became household names during the early years of the genre’s explosive growth.

For longtime “Big Brother” fans, Siyavus is remembered as one of the most emotional and outspoken members of Season 8, per TMZ.

Her personality made her a memorable presence inside the house even though she did not reach the final stages of the competition.

She continued to be recognized by fans years after leaving the show.

As of Sunday, officials had not announced when the coroner’s office expects to complete its findings.

Until then, the circumstances of Siyavus’ death remain unclear.
