Fox News Giving up on Trump?

President Donald Trump took his complaint about Fox News directly to Truth Social, telling the network its audience will tune out if it keeps leaving his rallies off the air.

The post follows a CNN report that Fox has declined to carry his midterm events live.

Trump aimed his message at “Fox & Friends,” and specifically its Sunday edition. He opened by pointing to an Ohio rally that had taken place the night before. His post read:

“Sad to see that Fox & Friends (Sunday) is not covering our packed house and incredibly enthusiastic (beyond!) Rally that took place in Ohio last night, or the ones in Alabama, Texas, or Oklahoma over the past two days,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

The president named four states in that single message.

Ohio hosted the rally he described as the previous night’s event. Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma hosted the others he mentioned, all within the two days before it.

Trump then described what he says his supporters want from the network. He wrote:

“Our people want to see our Rallies, and reports on our Rallies, on FoxNews, or they will very quickly stop watching (like I am doing right now!)”

The president ended the post with a parenthetical remark about his own viewing at the moment he wrote it. He gave no further detail on that point.

CNN’s Reliable Sources newsletter set the exchange in motion.

The newsletter reported that Trump keeps holding midterm rallies and that Fox News keeps choosing not to air them live.

CNN described the choice as a programming decision with significant political and cultural weight.

The newsletter also put a number on the pattern.

Over the course of one week, CNN reported, Fox “has largely skipped covering five rallies.”

CNN presented that tally as evidence of a trend rather than a one-time scheduling choice.

CNN said the account came from within Fox itself. A current Fox host, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the outlet: “This is coming from the top down.”

The same host told CNN they did not officially know why the network was handling the rallies this way.

According to the host, the conventional wisdom inside Fox right now is that “Trump doesn’t rate anymore.”

A second network insider gave CNN a conflicting version of events. That person said no “top-down order” exists to avoid coverage of the president.

CNN did not identify either source by name. As a result, the two accounts stand in direct conflict over whether senior leadership made the call.

CNN also noted that Trump keeps posting about his frustrations with Fox. The network belongs to Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch, whose company controls its programming.

Trump has drawn heavy media attention for more than a decade. His rallies have been a staple of American political coverage since 2015, the year he first campaigned for the presidency.

The latest dispute arrives while his rally calendar remains full.

His own post cites events in four states over a stretch of just a few days. CNN’s count adds five rallies in one week that Fox largely skipped.

Neither the post nor the CNN report lays out a resolution.

The rallies continue on the campaign trail, and the question of how Fox News covers them remains a point of open disagreement between the president and the network.
