President Donald Trump opened Tuesday’s round of Truth Social posts by pointing to a Fox News broadcast he said was airing as he typed.
By his account, the network was running a long interview with Dan Osborn, the candidate challenging Nebraska Republican Senator Pete Ricketts.
“FoxNews is long form interviewing the sleazebag, Dan Osborn, right now, who is running against our GREAT Republican Senator, Pete Ricketts, from Nebraska,” Trump wrote.
He then put a question to the network. “Why are they doing this??? The ‘other side’ doesn’t give our people any positive exposure or airtime,” he wrote.
A separate post named Fox anchor Martha MacCallum and a candidate identified as El-Sayed. Trump said her interview with El-Sayed went easy on him and that she handles the president differently.
“All they talk about is Dumocrat Jihadists like El-Sayed, with his softball interview by Martha MacCallum, and the like. She never interviews me like that,” he wrote.
Trump described the broader pattern as a question of airtime.
“FoxNews spends more time covering the Jihadist and Dumocrat candidates than they do the good old fashioned Republicans, the people that have saved America, and are making it great again,” he posted.
He said the approach had cost the network its bearings. “Fox is promoting the Dumocrats, not the Republicans and MAGA. They have totally lost their way!” he wrote.
His rallies drew a separate complaint on Tuesday. Trump said other outlets air footage of them the next morning and Fox does not.
“They don’t show my record breaking Rallies the morning after, but others do, and that’s what MAGA is watching,” he wrote.
He also pointed to his own election results. “It is a miracle that I won, the last by a landslide, three Presidential Races!” he wrote.
The dispute began on Sunday. Trump posted that “Fox & Friends” had skipped his Saturday night rally in Ohio, as well as events in Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma over the previous two days.
“Sad to see that Fox & Friends (Sunday) is not covering our packed house and incredibly enthusiastic (beyond!) Rally that took place in Ohio last night, or the ones in Alabama, Texas, or Oklahoma over the past two days,” he posted.
In the same series, he said the four events filled their venues. “These Election Rallies were representative of what is really happening with our great Republican Party.
They were all sold out, with thousands of people trying to get in, and are absolutely phenomenal, better than ever!” he wrote.
Trump said the problem is not new at Fox and warned that his supporters will leave if it continues.
“It’s the old undercurrent at FoxNews! Other networks are reporting about these Rallies, and really positively, like ‘crazy!’ Our people want to see our Rallies, and reports on our Rallies, on FoxNews, or they will very quickly stop watching (like I am doing right now!),” he wrote.
The network’s choice of guests drew his attention as well, and he named commentator Jessica Tarlov.
“Fox spends more time talking to Communists, Socialists, and Dumocrats, often without rebuttal, and MAGA is not, to put it mildly, happy. We don’t like stupid Jessica Tarlov, and all of the others, that are forced down MAGA’S throats,” he wrote.
Trump also brought up Maria Bartiromo, a Trump supporter, and asked who runs the network’s decisions.
“Who makes these decisions at FoxNews? Probably the same loser that fired the great Maria Bartiromo because she complained about not being allowed to cover ‘TRUMP.’ She’ll end up bigger and better than ever – watch!” he wrote.
He finished with a warning about Fox’s ratings and its past.
“Cover our ‘happenings,’ and not the opposition to Greatness for America, or FoxNews will soon have the ratings of FAKE NEWS CNN or MSNOW (MSDNC). Remember, Fox tried this act once before, and almost went out of business (and always right before an election!). That can happen again!” he wrote.
Taken together, the posts from Sunday and Tuesday mention two Fox programs’ hosts and guests by name, rallies in four states, and one Senate race.
