Jelly Roll framed the event as the weekend’s biggest story before turning his attention to how the president handled a simple ceremonial task.
“Let’s talk about the main event of America this weekend. It was the big IndyCar race hosted by the president,” the singer said, setting up his first target of the night.
He zeroed in on Trump’s handling of the traditional green flag used to signal the race’s start, suggesting the president fumbled the gesture.
“The cars drove through the streets of D.C., and there’s Donald Trump, who apparently has never held a flag before,” Jelly Roll told viewers.
