A chilling propaganda broadcast out of Tehran has triggered an immediate federal response, with the U.S. Secret Service confirming an active investigation into threats made against Barron Trump.
Federal agents moved quickly after Iranian state television aired footage explicitly naming the 20-year-old son of President Donald Trump as a target for assassination.
Secret Service spokesman Nate Herring broke the agency’s silence on Tuesday, delivering a pointed statement confirming that investigators had already reviewed the disturbing material.
“The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” Herring stated.
Herring declined to elaborate on any protective steps the agency may be taking, citing standard security protocols followed in threat cases involving protected individuals.
“Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence,” he said.
Iranian broadcaster IRIB, a state-run outlet controlled by hardline officials loyal to the country’s supreme leader, first aired the nearly three-minute segment over the weekend.
The propaganda reportedly resurfaced on Channel 3, a separate Iranian network with alleged links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, expanding its reach across state media platforms.
Viewers were greeted with a jarring English-language graphic at the video’s opening, posing the question “Where to kill Barron Trump?!” before the segment continued.
The broadcast went on to formally brand the young Trump a “target,” accompanying the label with graphic depictions of locations tied to his daily life.
Among the sites highlighted were Trump Tower in Manhattan and a Washington-area residence connected to New York University’s campus housing.
Specific dormitory buildings were named, including facilities within NYU’s Constance Milstein & Family Global Academic Center, raising alarm over the granular nature of the claims.
Independent verification of the footage proved elusive, however, as outlets including The Jerusalem Post and The New York Post reported they were unable to track down the original clip on Channel 3’s official channels.
Those same news organizations said they also could not confirm the accuracy of the surveillance claims embedded in the video, nor the legitimacy of the reported $10 million bounty figure.
Tuesday’s broadcast represents an unprecedented escalation, marking the first occasion on which Barron Trump has been individually named in this type of hostile Iranian media campaign.
Iranian state television has a documented history of targeting the Trump family, having previously released a video titled “Where to Kill Melania?” aimed at the First Lady.
That earlier broadcast concluded with a passing reference to Barron Trump, foreshadowing Tuesday’s direct targeting of the president’s son.
A federal law enforcement official, speaking with CNN, characterized the newest video as one component of a sustained propaganda effort originating from Iran.
According to that source, the broader campaign has at times included specific details about the movements of Trump family members alongside veiled threats.
The Secret Service’s rapid public acknowledgment signals heightened concern among federal authorities regarding the specificity and repetition of threats emerging from Iranian state channels.
Diplomatic friction between Washington and Tehran has provided the backdrop for an intensifying stream of hostile rhetoric aimed squarely at the president’s inner circle.
