Clintons Face Total Collapse

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be deposed next week in connection with the House Oversight Committee’s probe into Jeffrey Epstein.

The depositions will take place in Chappaqua, New York, where the Clintons reside, rather than in Washington, D.C. Hillary Clinton is scheduled to testify under oath on Feb. 26, with Bill Clinton set to appear on Feb. 27.

A spokeswoman for the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability said the sessions are being held in New York “as an accommodation for their schedules” and will follow House and committee rules.

Committee Chairman James Comer said the testimony is critical to understanding Epstein’s network and how he and Ghislaine Maxwell allegedly sought to shield themselves from scrutiny.

“Their testimony is critical to understanding Epstein and Maxwell’s sex trafficking network,” Comer said, adding that lawmakers are seeking transparency and accountability for victims and the public.

The depositions follow months of legal back-and-forth. House Republicans had previously considered holding both Clintons in contempt of Congress after their legal team challenged the validity of the subpoenas.

A contempt vote could have referred them to the Department of Justice for potential prosecution, carrying penalties of up to one year in jail and a $100K fine if convicted.

That vote was halted after the Clintons agreed to testify.

In recent weeks, Bill Clinton has publicly called for the full release of Epstein-related files and criticized the committee’s decision to hold depositions behind closed doors. He argued that public hearings would better serve transparency.

Comer has not ruled out future public hearings but maintains that closed-door depositions are standard procedure before any public testimony.

Bill Clinton has acknowledged past associations with Epstein but has denied any wrongdoing. Neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton has been implicated in criminal activity in connection with Epstein.

The Clintons are among more than a dozen individuals and entities subpoenaed in the committee’s bipartisan investigation. The probe aims to examine how Epstein maintained relationships with powerful figures and whether legal or policy gaps enabled his activities, per Fox News.

The committee has conducted depositions outside Washington before. Lawmakers and staff recently traveled to Ohio to question Leslie Wexner, the former Victoria’s Secret CEO, who had financial ties to Epstein.

The upcoming depositions are expected to draw intense political attention. Republicans argue the investigation is about transparency and accountability. Many Democrats contend the probe has been driven by partisan motives.

For now, both former officials will testify under oath in private sessions that could shape the next phase of the House investigation.

If the committee uncovers new evidence, additional public hearings or legislative proposals related to human trafficking laws could follow.
