Author Michael Wolff reportedly told Jeffrey Epstein to try to end President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign to save himself.
On Wednesday, the House Oversight Committee released over 20,000 pages of documents in the Epstein files.
Dozens of emails by Epstein mentioned Trump.
Democrats have used the emails as a means to allege that the president partook in Epstein’s horrific sex crimes.
However, one of Epstein’s most well-known victims, Virginia Giuffre, denied allegations that the president was involved in wrongdoing.
In a specific email, the prominent author Wolff tells Epstein that he could effectively kill Trump’s campaign.
“NYT called me about you and Trump. Also, Hillary campaign digging deeply. Again, you should consider preempting,” he told Epstein in February 2016.
According to the New York Post, Epstein invited Wolff to a meeting between himself and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.
In response to Wolff’s comments, Epstein said, “Lots of reporters.”
“Yeah, you’re the Trump bullet,” Wolff fired back.
Just months prior, Wolff advised Epstein on how to deal with Trump if he won the election, which, of course, he ultimately did.
The author told the infamous financier that the more Trump denies the allegations against him, the greater “political currency” he would have.
He urged Epstein to let the president “hang himself” over the issue.
“I think you should let him hang himself,” Wolff said in an email dated Dec. 16, 2015.
“If he says he hasn’t been on the plane or to the house, than that gives you valuable PR and political currency,” he added. “You can hang him in a way that potentially generates a positive benefit for you, or, if it really looks like he could win, you could save him, generating a debt.”
“Of course, it is possible that, when asked, he’ll say Jeffrey is a great guy and has gotten a raw deal and is a victim of political correctness, which is to be outlawed in a Trump regime.” he continued.
In an interview with Daily Beast host Joanna Coles, Wolff was asked to explain why he was “advising” a pedophile.
Wolff tried to downplay his actions and pointed out that emails are “embarrasing.”
“What emails sound like—would one have rewritten in hindsight? Yeah, of course. Emails always are—that’s embarrassing,“ he said, before adding that he took the same approach with business conglomerate Rupert Murdoch.
“If you saw the emails that I shared with Rupert Murdoch, I would I would be embarrassed about them. But I was able to write the book that no one has been able to write, and a book also that he profoundly hated,” he said.
As the Daily Beast pointed out, Wolff’s communications with Epstein began in 2014 when the notorious figure reached out to him to become his biographer.
Wolff said he treated Epstein nicely to expose Trump.
“I’m the person who sees this, this elemental story, Donald Trump,” he said. “I’ve gone through this with Epstein deep into the background. Donald Trump is the best friend of, you know, evil. He is the best friend of of a deeply, deeply diabolical person.”
