Trump Hits Critics With Major Political Milestone: Report

President Donald Trump is experiencing a notable upswing in public support, according to a recent poll conducted by J.L. Partners for the Daily Mail.

The survey of 867 registered voters, conducted from Aug. 21 to Sept. 1, found that 55 percent approve of the president’s performance—up six points from a July survey—while 45 percent disapprove.

The poll carries a 3.3 percent margin of error.

James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners, called the numbers unprecedented for Trump, stating, “This is the highest approval figure we have ever shown for Donald Trump.”

Analysts attribute the increase in part to the president’s recent executive decisions, including deploying federal troops to Washington, D.C., to combat rising crime.

Official crime figures from the capital support these moves.

Violent crime has dropped 39 percent from last year, robberies are down 57 percent and motor vehicle theft has fallen 35 percent.

Observers suggest these results, combined with the visible presence of federal forces, have contributed to a perception of decisive leadership.

Economic conditions have also helped bolster approval.

The U.S. economy grew 3.3 percent in the second quarter, surpassing expectations.

Inflation has remained steady, consumer spending and personal incomes increased and the S&P 500 reached five all-time highs in August, reflecting investor confidence.

Trump’s activity on social media, particularly Truth Social, continues to shape public perception.

By posting updates on policy initiatives, international diplomacy and public safety measures, the president maintains direct engagement with supporters, bypassing traditional media filters.

Online responses have been mixed: supporters have praised his handling of domestic safety and foreign relations, while critics have offered humor, skepticism or commentary on media coverage.

The president’s choice to remain in Washington, D.C., during August rather than taking a conventional vacation further highlighted his hands-on approach.

During this period, he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska and hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky alongside European leaders at the White House to advance diplomacy and address international conflicts.

Placed in historical context, Trump’s current approval rating compares favorably with other presidents at similar points in their terms.

Gallup data shows the highest presidential approval ever recorded was 90 percent for George H.W. Bush in March 1991, following the U.S.-led operation to expel Iraqi forces from Kuwait.

Trump’s ratings have previously dipped as low as 34 percent at the end of his first term.

His current 55 percent positions him above several modern presidents at comparable stages, signaling a notable rebound as he enters the final stretch of his second term.

Trump’s approval has also remained resilient despite recent health rumors.

Over the Labor Day weekend, some liberals speculated that the president had passed away after he was not seen publicly for a few days.

At 79, he will turn 82 during his final year in office.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed he has “chronic venous insufficiency,” causing mild swelling in his lower legs, which physicians note is a common and benign condition in older adults.

Minor hand bruising has been linked to frequent handshakes and routine aspirin use for cardiovascular health.
