The Los Angeles woman who confronted Governor Gavin Newsom earlier this month over dry fire hydrants during devastating wildfires has revealed that Newsom was not on the phone with President Joe Biden, as he claimed. Instead, he was speaking to his wife.
The confrontation took place after wildfires ravaged parts of Los Angeles, reducing neighborhoods to ashes and leaving many residents outraged. One furious mother, Rachel Darvish, confronted Newsom as he was about to enter his motorcade. Her daughter’s school had burned down, and she demanded answers about the state’s poor wildfire response.
“Governor! You got a second? Governor! Governor! I live here, Governor! That was my daughter’s school, Governor!” Darvish yelled as she ran toward him.
Newsom, seemingly caught off guard, attempted to diffuse the situation by claiming he was on the phone with President Biden. “I’m literally talking with the president right now to specifically answer the question of what we could do for you and your daughter,” he told her. However, Darvish was skeptical and pressed him for proof.
“Can I hear it? Can I hear your call? Because I don’t believe it,” she challenged.
Newsom fumbled for an explanation, stating that his calls to Biden weren’t connecting due to poor cell service. “I’ve tried five times. That’s why I’m walking around to make the call,” he said.
Darvish continued to demand accountability. “Why isn’t the president taking your call?” she asked.
Newsom replied, “Because it’s not going through, so I have to get cell service. There’s no cell service.”
Unconvinced, Darvish urged him to follow through. “Let’s get it, let’s get it. I want to be here when you call the president.”
Attempting to shift focus, Newsom offered reassurances. “I appreciate it, I’m doing that right now and it’s to immediately get reimbursements, individual assistance, and to help you out. I’m devastated for you, I’m so sorry, especially for your daughter. I have four kids.”
But Darvish wasn’t satisfied. “Governor, please tell me! What are you gonna do with the president right now? Why was there no water in the hydrants, Governor? Fill the hydrants! I would fill them up personally, you know that. I would fill up the hydrants myself. But would you do that?”
“I would do whatever I can,” Newsom replied.
“But you’re not!” she shouted back. “Do you know there’s water dripping over there, Governor? There’s water coming out of there—you can use it!”
“I appreciate that, I’m gonna make the call to address everything I can right now, including making sure people are safe,” Newsom said as he entered his vehicle and left.
“He’s a W*NKER!
“He was not on the phone to the President… it was his WIFE.”
