Veteran Hollywood Actor Dies at 62

Robert Kelker-Kelly, the veteran soap opera actor known for playing Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” has died at the age of 62.

A Missouri medical examiner confirmed that Kelker-Kelly died on Oct. 3.

His official cause of death has not yet been made public.

Authorities said emergency crews were called to his Missouri home after the actor complained of chest pain and later became unresponsive.

CPR was reportedly already being performed when police and paramedics arrived.

First responders continued efforts to revive him, but he could not be saved.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances at the scene and that his death appeared to be connected to a medical emergency.

Kelker-Kelly spent years working in daytime television and appeared on several of the genre’s best-known shows.

He launched his soap opera career in 1987 after joining “Another World” as Sam Fowler.

In 1992, he took over the role of Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives” following Peter Reckell’s departure from the series.

Kelker-Kelly remained in the role until 1995.

During that time, he shared storylines with Kristian Alfonso, who played Hope Brady, and Lisa Rinna, who portrayed Billie Reed.

His run as Bo Brady introduced him to a massive daytime television audience and made him one of the show’s recognizable faces during the early 1990s.

Reckell later returned to the role after Kelker-Kelly left the series.

Kelker-Kelly continued his soap opera career with another major role on “General Hospital,” where he played Stavros Cassadine.

That appearance added yet another high-profile daytime drama to his résumé.

Away from acting, Kelker-Kelly also worked professionally as a pilot.

His name drew renewed attention earlier this year after Rinna wrote about their working relationship in her memoir.

Rinna accused Kelker-Kelly of being verbally abusive and manipulative while they worked together on “Days of Our Lives.”

She also claimed he engaged in mind games on set.

According to Rinna, his sudden departure from the show prompted NBC to provide security for both her and Alfonso for several weeks.

Kelker-Kelly did not publicly address those allegations, per Trending Politics.

Despite the later controversy, his career remained closely connected to several of daytime television’s biggest franchises.

He appeared on “Another World,” “Days of Our Lives” and “General Hospital,” giving him a long presence in the soap opera world.

His portrayal of Bo Brady remains the role most closely associated with his career.

Kelker-Kelly was 62.
