USPS Employee Caught Red-Handed in Unfathomable Act

A United States Postal Service (USPS) employee has been charged following a troubling incident involving a young child in Ramapo, Rockland County, New York, an event captured on surveillance footage that has drawn widespread attention.

The 39-year-old postal worker, identified by authorities as Gabriel Stan of Stony Point, allegedly pushed a 4-year-old boy to the ground near a parked mail truck last week, raising concerns over federal employee conduct and community safety.

Authorities say the child, wearing a yarmulke, approached Stan while he was delivering mail.

Video obtained by the Monsey Scoop reportedly shows Stan first yelling and then forcefully shoving the boy to the pavement on Garden Terrace, off Viola Road in Monsey, around 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

The child quickly got up, retrieved his yarmulke, and left the area unharmed. Officials confirmed he did not sustain serious injuries, though the incident was deeply upsetting for both witnesses and the community.

Stan was arrested the following day after police reviewed the footage and gathered statements from bystanders.

He has been charged with Attempted Assault in the Second Degree, a felony, along with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor under New York law.

He was released on his own recognizance, with a court appearance expected at a later date, according to The Western Journal.

Police have not identified a clear motive for the incident.

Witnesses indicated Stan had been yelling at children in the area before the confrontation, though investigators have yet to confirm these accounts.

Authorities also have not stated whether the case will be pursued as a hate crime, but the child’s religious identity has attracted additional public concern, Law Enforcement Today noted.

Local leaders responded strongly after viewing the footage.

Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht said he personally watched the surveillance video and described the events as “very disturbing,” emphasizing that the Ramapo Police Department has treated the case with the utmost seriousness and acted promptly to arrest the suspect.

State Assemblyman Aron Wieder condemned the incident as “appalling and deeply troubling, never acceptable under any circumstances,” while State Senator Bill Weber said he had been inundated with calls from concerned constituents demanding accountability, the Daily Mail reported.

The incident has reignited discussions about public safety, oversight of federal employees, and how individuals in positions of authority interact with children and vulnerable populations.

Officials have not released additional employment details beyond Stan’s USPS role, but his federal status has intensified scrutiny and raised questions about workplace accountability.

Critics warn that incidents like this can erode public trust in institutions, while supporters of swift enforcement emphasize that the immediate arrest demonstrates law enforcement’s commitment to child safety, regardless of occupation.

The case also underscores the importance of surveillance footage and eyewitness testimony in holding individuals accountable for misconduct involving minors.

Authorities continue to review all footage and witness statements to fully understand the sequence of events.

Additional charges may be considered as the investigation progresses.

While the child was not seriously injured, the event has left a lasting impression on the Ramapo community, prompting calls for accountability, child protection, and public confidence in federal employees.
