Police Activity Intensifies
The area has been cordoned off as law enforcement investigates. Live reports and footage from NBC Washington show a heavy police presence, with multiple vehicles and flashing lights dominating the scene. Walkways near the Capitol have also been shut down as a precaution.

Capitol Police confirmed to reporters that the investigation began after an individual drove a vehicle erratically, including onto the sidewalk near the Capitol grounds. In response, authorities initiated a security lockdown of the surrounding area.
