In an interview with Fox News on Monday evening, former U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard, who has been chosen to assist Donald Trump with debate preparation against Kamala Harris, emphasized that the current vice president has “an incredibly vulnerable record” that will be scrutinized when they face off in September.
Gabbard noted that Trump has demonstrated “time and time again” his strength on the debate stage, stating that he “doesn’t really need help with debate prep” and doesn’t prepare like a typical politician because “he’s not a politician.”
She praised Trump’s strong track record on issues that concern the American public and mentioned that her role would mainly involve sharing her own experiences with Kamala Harris during past debates. Gabbard believes Harris will attempt to “trick the American people” by obscuring her “radical record.”
“She’s going to try to distance herself from Joe Biden, but the reality is, she’s directly responsible, through her role as vice president and her tie-breaking votes in the Senate, for the abysmal economy, the rampant inflation, the border crisis, and the fact that we’re closer to World War III and nuclear war than ever before,” Gabbard asserted.
Host Laura Ingraham remarked that Harris would likely avoid discussing these issues, instead opting to “bait” Trump with personal attacks during the debate. Gabbard agreed, expressing no doubt that this would be Harris’s strategy. However, she pointed out Trump’s focus during his debates with Biden, where he remained centered on issues critical to the American people, contrasting his record with those of Biden and Harris.
Gabbard suggested that Harris would likely rely on lines provided by her pollsters during the debate but warned that Harris has “an incredibly vulnerable record because it’s been disastrous for the American people.”
