President Donald Trump on Saturday publicly condemned Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), calling her a “disgrace” to the Republican Party after she criticized him on social media over his refusal to release documents tied to convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Trump posted on Truth Social, labeling Greene “Marjorie ‘traitor’ Green” and claiming she had dishonored the party.
The exchange followed Greene’s social media remarks blasting the president for withdrawing his support for her reelection campaign due to her demands for the release of Epstein-related files.
Greene framed her push as defending victims and exposing a network of wealthy and powerful individuals she described as complicit in Epstein’s crimes.
“I never thought that fighting to release the Epstein files, defending women who were victims of rape, and fighting to expose the web of rich powerful elites would have caused this, but here we are,” she wrote on X.
She continued, emphasizing her belief in the American people over any political leader or party, arguing that both sides of the aisle have failed the public.
Greene also warned that the country faces escalating threats of division and conflict fueled by political elites.
Following Trump’s retort, Greene claimed she had received warnings about her safety from private security firms, as the New York Post reported.
She told her followers that the threats she faced were being exacerbated by the “most powerful man in the world,” referencing Trump.
Greene noted that the experience gave her insight into the fear and pressure that women who were victims of Epstein and his associates have endured.
In a show of solidarity, 27 Epstein victims signed a letter backing Greene, calling her a “survivor by proxy” and thanking her for standing up against decades of intimidation, silencing, and abuse.
Trump’s escalating criticism of Greene included calling her “wacky” and a “lunatic,” accusing her of constantly complaining about his administration despite the administration’s record of accomplishments.
“Over the past few weeks,” Trump wrote, “all I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!” He framed his withdrawal of support as a response to what he described as Greene’s relentless grumbling rather than substantive policy disagreements.
The feud comes amid growing tensions in the MAGA movement over the handling and potential release of Epstein-related documents.
Greene has been vocal about her desire for transparency, which has put her at odds with Trump and highlighted rifts between him and some of his former allies.
This public clash underscores how the Epstein files continue to fuel disputes among Republican figures and MAGA loyalists.
Greene’s insistence on pushing for disclosure has made her a lightning rod in conservative circles.
