President Donald Trump’s eldest granddaughter, Kai Trump, was surrounded by family support this week after her mother, Vanessa Trump, revealed she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
The emotional family moment unfolded during what was supposed to be a celebratory week for Kai, who graduated from The Benjamin School, an elite college preparatory academy in South Florida where annual tuition reportedly exceeds $41,000.
Kai, 19, shared photos and videos from graduation day on Instagram, including a touching image alongside her mother while dressed in her blue cap and gown.
“The strongest person I know,” Kai wrote over the photo of Vanessa.
She also posted behind-the-scenes footage of herself preparing for graduation while Vanessa emotionally remarked, “I can’t believe she’s graduating today.”
Later that evening, Kai was photographed in New York City meeting family members for dinner at celebrity hotspot The Mark.
Photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed Kai greeting her grandmother, Bonnie Haydon, and aunt, Veronika Haydon, before the family gathered for a curbside meal following the graduation celebrations.
Kai appeared relaxed in casual attire consisting of a black short-sleeve shirt, jeans and sneakers as she embraced relatives outside the upscale Manhattan restaurant.
Observers noted that Veronika Haydon bears a striking resemblance to Vanessa Trump, and the family was seen conversing warmly while waiting for dinner.
Vanessa herself, however, was absent from the gathering only hours after publicly announcing her breast cancer diagnosis.
In a statement posted to Instagram, Vanessa revealed she had recently undergone a medical procedure and was now working closely with doctors on a treatment plan.
“I want to share a personal health update,” Vanessa wrote. “I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan.”
She added that she remained “focused and hopeful” while surrounded by support from family, friends and her five children.
Vanessa also thanked supporters for their prayers and requested privacy while recovering.
The announcement quickly prompted an outpouring of support from members of the Trump family, as the Daily Mail reported.
Ivanka Trump was among the first relatives to publicly respond, writing, “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama.”
The difficult week for the family also coincides with renewed public attention surrounding Vanessa’s relationship with golf legend Tiger Woods.
According to the report, Woods recently completed an intensive rehabilitation program in Zurich after being charged with driving under the influence following a March car crash near his Florida home.
Authorities reportedly found prescription opioid medication in Woods’ possession at the time of the arrest, though he has pleaded not guilty to the DUI charge.
The Daily Mail reported that Woods left rehab early in order to attend Kai’s graduation ceremony.
Sources close to the couple told People magazine that Vanessa and Woods remain “serious” and committed to one another despite recent controversies surrounding the golfer.
Vanessa shares five children with Donald Trump Jr. following their 2018 divorce after more than a decade of marriage. Despite the split, the two have continued appearing together publicly for family events involving their children.
