President Donald Trump has unveiled controversial new plaques in the White House Presidential Walk of Fame, taking direct aim at his immediate predecessors with harsh criticism and political commentary.
The installation, which was originally unveiled in September, has been updated with bronze plaques beneath the portraits of former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama.
The additions feature Trump’s personal assessments of their presidencies, including nicknames he coined for them during his political campaigns.
The plaque beneath Biden’s portrait declares him the worst president in American history.
It claims his administration oversaw unprecedented disasters that brought the nation to the brink of destruction.
According to the text, Biden’s policies allegedly caused the highest inflation ever recorded.
The plaque states the U.S. Dollar lost more than 20 percent of its value during his four years in office.
The installation references Trump’s nicknames for Biden, calling him both “Sleepy” and “Crooked.”
The plaque suggests Biden was controlled by radical left handlers.
The display also criticizes Biden’s use of an autopen, a device that mechanically reproduces signatures.
This reference connects to the September unveiling, when Trump originally used a photo of an autopen to represent the 46th president in the walk of fame.
The plaque mentions Biden’s performance in a June 2024 debate against Trump.
It describes the debate as humiliating and states Biden was subsequently forced to withdraw from his reelection campaign in disgrace.
Obama received similar treatment in the installation.
One plaque labels him as one of the most divisive political figures in American history.
The criticism of Obama focuses on the Affordable Care Act, which the plaque refers to as the highly ineffective “Unaffordable” Care Act.
It claims the legislation resulted in Democrats losing control of both Houses of Congress and led to the election of the largest House Republican majority since 1946.
A second plaque beneath Obama’s portrait makes more serious allegations.
It accuses Obama of spying on Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and presiding over what it calls the Russia Hoax, described as the worst political scandal in American history.
The plaque also notes that Obama’s handpicked successor, Hillary Rodham Clinton, lost the presidency to Donald J. Trump.
Clinton appears multiple times in the installation despite never serving as president.
Beneath the portrait of former President Bill Clinton, a plaque states that his wife Hillary Clinton lost the presidency to Trump in 2016.
Trump previewed the plaques during a November interview with Fox News Channel host Laura Ingraham, the outlet reported.
During a tour of the walk of fame, he told Ingraham that beautiful bronze plaques would be installed to describe the presidents. However, Trump did not reveal during that interview that the plaques would contain political attacks and personal commentary.
The full extent of the criticism only became apparent after the plaques were publicly installed.
The Presidential Walk of Fame represents a departure from traditional White House displays of former presidents.
Previous administrations typically maintained neutral or respectful presentations of their predecessors regardless of political differences.
