Sydney Sweeney was spotted filming a beach scene in Sydney on Monday for her upcoming R-rated romantic comedy.
The 25-year-old actress, best known for her role on Euphoria, was seen in sheer white lingerie during a high-energy scene with her co-stars.
During the shoot, Sweeney suffered a wardrobe malfunction when her top slipped for a moment. She appeared unbothered, continuing to splash through the water alongside her co-stars Hadley Robinson, 28, and Alexandra Shipp, 31.
Robinson wore a skimpy printed bikini, while Shipp opted for an orange bikini top paired with black G-string bottoms, revealing tattoos on her upper thigh.
Sweeney’s outfit featured a white bra with pink lace detailing and matching high-cut bottoms, complemented by a messy updo and gold jewelry. Leading man Glen Powell, 34, appeared shirtless in brown and black swimming trunks, showcasing his physique.
For one shot, Sweeney and Robinson held hands as they walked down the sand, and in another, Sweeney playfully jumped on Robinson’s back while wading in the surf.
Camera operators and production crew filmed the scene from the beach. Afterward, producers quickly covered the actors with towels behind umbrellas to protect their privacy.
Sweeney has previously portrayed racy roles on screen, including topless appearances on HBO’s Euphoria.
In past interviews, she has discussed the challenges of growing up with a mature physique, telling British GQ that she often felt self-conscious and ostracized, as the Daily Mail reported.
She said she used sports and academics to assert that her body did not define her. Sweeney is also a trained mixed martial arts fighter and competed in grappling competitions during high school.
The film is directed by Will Gluck, known for romantic comedies such as Easy A and Friends with Benefits.
It will also feature Bryan Brown, Michelle Hurd, Hadley Robinson, and Darren Barnet. Plot details remain under wraps, but the project is expected to bring AUD$41 million into the New South Wales economy and create over 440 jobs for the cast and crew.
Gluck expressed enthusiasm for filming in Sydney, stating, “I am so excited to make a movie that shows Sydney for Sydney, especially because I won’t have to frame out the Opera House.” He noted the production team’s strong connection to Australia after previous work on the Peter Rabbit films.
In addition to this project, Sweeney has been promoting her film Reality, which dramatizes the real-life events surrounding former Air Force linguist Reality Leigh Winner.
The film covers Winner’s 2017 FBI interrogation for leaking documents to The Intercept, and depicts the hours-long questioning in detail. Sweeney described the process of portraying Winner as careful and deliberate.
“I definitely felt the weight of the importance of every word and every moment that was shared between these characters, because Reality had lived a life before this,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
Filming has taken place in several Sydney locations, including Surry Hills and Double Bay. Sweeney’s recent projects demonstrate her continued presence in both high-profile television and feature films, as she balances dramatic roles with lighter, comedic projects.
