Boston police are investigating a death after a body was discovered Saturday at a residential property owned by the husband of Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA).
Officers responded shortly before 2 p.m. to an “investigate person” call at a multi-family home in the city’s Mattapan neighborhood, according to the Boston Police Department.
Upon arriving at the residence, officers found a deceased individual on the property. Police later reclassified the incident as a death investigation.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, a cause of death or any information regarding the circumstances surrounding the death. Investigators also have not said whether foul play is suspected.
The property is owned by Conan Harris, Pressley’s husband, according to public records. Harris purchased the residence in 2021.
Pressley and Harris do not reside at the property, which recently was listed for sale. The multi-family home, which includes eight bedrooms and four bathrooms, was placed on the market last month with an asking price of approximately $1.15 million.
Real estate agent Chantae Turner, who is representing the sale of the property, told The Boston Globe that the current tenants have lived at the residence for an extended period.
Turner declined to comment further on the investigation, describing the incident as “unfortunate.”
Police secured the property with crime scene tape Saturday while officers remained at the scene as investigators continued gathering evidence.
Authorities have not disclosed whether the deceased was a tenant, visitor or otherwise connected to the residence.
No arrests have been announced, and police have not identified any suspects.
A spokesperson for the Boston Police Department said no additional information was immediately available as the investigation remained active.
A neighbor told The Boston Globe that police previously conducted a law enforcement operation at the residence approximately two months ago, about a month before the property was listed for sale, per the Daily Mail.
Authorities have not confirmed that account or indicated whether any prior police activity at the address is connected to the current investigation.
Financial disclosure reports filed by Pressley have shown that she and Harris own multiple rental properties in Massachusetts.
According to those disclosures, the Mattapan property generated rental income during 2025. The couple also reported rental income from two additional Boston-area properties and from a home in Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard.
The disclosures also listed proceeds from the sale of a home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, during the reporting period.
The financial filings identify the rental properties as investment assets but do not indicate who occupies the residences.
Pressley’s congressional office declined to comment on the investigation. A spokesperson also declined to provide additional information when contacted by The Boston Globe.
Boston police have not announced when they expect to release additional details regarding the death.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is expected to determine the cause and manner of death following an examination.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone with relevant information to contact Boston police. Under Massachusetts law, all deaths are treated as investigations until officials determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. No further details were immediately available Saturday evening.
