George Soros’ former top lieutenant has been hit with explosive charges after federal prosecutors revealed disturbing allegations of trafficking and abuse.
Howard Rubin, once described as Soros’ “right-hand man,” was indicted by the Justice Department this week on charges that could put him away for good.
According to the DOJ, Rubin and his assistant, Jennifer Powers, were charged with trafficking and transporting women across state lines for sex.
Prosecutors allege Rubin, 70, used his Manhattan penthouse as a “secret sex dungeon” where he carried out violent assaults on unsuspecting victims.
“It is in this secret sex dungeon that Rubin is accused of having committed violent acts and sexual assault against a number of women, including actual Playboy playmates,” the New York Post reported.
The DOJ said the financier also faces a bank fraud charge connected to misrepresentations on a mortgage tied to Powers’ Texas home.
“As alleged, the defendants used Rubin’s wealth to mislead and recruit women to engage in commercial sex acts, where Rubin then tortured women beyond their consent, causing lasting physical and psychological pain,” said U.S. Attorney Joseph Nocella Jr.
He continued, “Today’s arrests show that no one who engages in sex trafficking is above the law, and that they will be brought to justice. Human beings are not chattel to be exploited for sex and sadistically abused.”
The accusations are horrifying.
According to court documents, Rubin allegedly beat one woman so violently that her breast implant flipped, an injury so severe her surgeon refused to operate, per the Conservative Brief.
Another woman alleged that while she was bound in the penthouse, Rubin told her, “I’m going to rape you like I rape my daughter,” before assaulting her.
Rubin, who has three children with his estranged wife, reportedly paid women up to $5,000 for BDSM encounters. But several said they never consented to the violence and humiliation he inflicted.
“For many years, Howard Rubin and Jennifer Powers allegedly spent at least one million dollars to finance the commercial sexual torture of multiple women via a national trafficking network,” said FBI Assistant Director Christopher G. Raia.
“The defendants allegedly exploited Rubin’s status to ensnare their prospective victims and forced them to endure unthinkable physical trauma before silencing any outcries with threats of legal recourse,” he added.
IRS special agent Harry T. Chavis Jr. noted that Rubin did not act alone. “This was not a one-man show. While Rubin dehumanized these women with abhorrent sexual acts, Powers is alleged to have run the day-to-day operations of the enterprise and got paid generously for her efforts.”
A trader who once worked with Rubin at Soros Fund Management expressed shock at the revelations. “I thought he was a nice guy. I was surprised to hear about him having that apartment with a sex dungeon.”
The scandal has placed Soros’ orbit under fresh scrutiny, raising questions about the powerful figures he surrounded himself with as President Trump’s DOJ cracks down on elite corruption.
