Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Thursday posted a doctored Thanksgiving photo that replaced a McDonald’s meal with traditional holiday fare.
The 71-year-old cabinet member shared the edited image on X to his one million followers, wishing them a happy Thanksgiving.
The photo showed Kennedy alongside President Donald Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Elon Musk, and House Speaker Mike Johnson aboard Air Force One, appearing to enjoy turkey, brussels sprouts, corn and mashed potatoes.
Social media users quickly identified the image as altered.
The original photograph had been posted to Donald Trump Jr.’s account in November 2024, showing Kennedy with a noticeably different expression while eating McDonald’s food accompanied by a Coca-Cola.
The edited version maintained identical positioning and clothing for all individuals pictured.
The key differences included the meal itself and specific details: Kennedy appeared eating stuffing in the new version, while Trump Jr. held a slice of pie instead of the large McDonald’s fries visible in the original.
Kennedy did not disclose his actual Thanksgiving plans this year, a departure from his practice in previous years.
Last Thanksgiving, the health-conscious secretary shared footage of himself deep-frying a turkey outdoors while barefoot.
In that 2023 video, Kennedy explained his use of beef tallow as the frying oil, displaying a container of the white rendered fat.
As he lowered the bird into the bubbling pot, he warned viewers about the dangerous nature of the process.
During that same video, Kennedy asked his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, if she would be eating the turkey. She responded that she does not eat turkey.
Forty minutes later, Kennedy removed the cooked bird from the hot oil, still without shoes, declaring it would be delicious.
Kennedy recently made headlines earlier this month after reportedly admitting to smoking a powerful psychedelic that can produce near-death experiences.
The claim came from former New York Magazine reporter Olivia Nuzzi’s upcoming book “American Canto,” which details her scandalous sexting affair with the 71-year-old Kennedy scion.
Nuzzi, 32, alleges Kennedy confessed to continuing the use of psychedelics, including dimethyltryptamine, or DMT, despite being sober for decades.
The news broke shortly after Kennedy initiated a National Institutes of Health (NIH) study to investigate whether psychiatric medications, including SSRIs, may play a role in violent behavior.
The announcement followed the school shooting at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis, in which 23-year-old Robert “Robin” Westman killed two children and injured several others before taking his own life.
