Questions Cloud Romney Family Death Mystery More Than Ever

The sister-in-law of former presidential candidate Mitt Romney has died by “suicide,” medical examiners have confirmed.

This follows a fall from a California parking structure that occurred amid a contentious divorce proceeding, Resist the Mainstream previously reported.

Carrie Romney, 64, succumbed to “blunt traumatic injuries,” according to a ruling by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officials classified her death as a “suicide.”

The incident took place on Oct. 10, when Carrie Romney was found at the base of a five-story parking structure located in Valencia.

Authorities determined she jumped from the elevated structure, though investigators have not provided any explanation regarding what circumstances led to the fatal decision.

The parking garage was attached to an upscale apartment complex in the Valencia area.

First responders arrived at the scene following reports of a person down, but Carrie Romney was pronounced dead.

Carrie Romney was the wife of George Scott Romney, 81, an attorney and the older brother of Senator Mitt Romney.

The couple had been navigating a difficult marital separation at the time of her death.

Court documents show the pair filed for divorce in May of this year, ending an eight-year marriage.

The petition cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, though the specific nature of those differences has not been made public.

Legal filings from the divorce proceedings paint a picture of significant financial discord between the estranged spouses.

Both parties filed motions seeking to prevent the other from receiving any marital assets.

Each spouse maintained the other should receive nothing from the dissolution of the marriage.

The mutual accusations suggest a relationship that had deteriorated substantially before the formal separation, according to the New York Post.

Adding complexity to the situation, both Carrie and George Romney were residing in the same Valencia condominium despite the ongoing divorce proceedings.

The property, valued at $725,000, became a point of contention in their legal battle.

George Romney filed documents arguing his wife should not receive any spousal support payments.

He further claimed the couple possessed no joint property that required division in the divorce settlement.

The living arrangement raised questions about the couple’s day-to-day interactions during the divorce process.

It remains unknown whether both parties were present at the shared residence at the time of Carrie Romney’s death.

Court records indicate both sides took aggressive stances in the proceedings, with neither willing to compromise on financial matters.

The dispute over assets continued right up until Carrie Romney’s death, per the Post.

The medical examiner’s office has officially closed its investigation into the death, determining the cause and manner without further inquiry. However, many aspects of what transpired in the days and weeks leading up to the incident remain unclear.

The divorce case, now complicated by Carrie Romney’s death, leaves unresolved legal questions about asset distribution and estate matters.

The timeline of events preceding her fatal fall has not been fully disclosed by investigators or family members.

The Romney family has not issued public statements regarding the circumstances surrounding Carrie Romney’s death or the contentious divorce proceedings that were underway at the time of the tragedy.
