President Trump nominates Mike Huckabee as Israeli Ambassador

President-elect Donald Trump has announced that he is nominating former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as the next U.S. Ambassador to Israel.

Huckabee’s nomination comes amid ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas following the October 7, 2023, attacks by the Palestinian militant group, in which over 1,200 people were killed, and hundreds were taken hostage.

In a statement, Trump said, “I am pleased to announce that the Highly Respected former Governor of Arkansas, Mike Huckabee, has been nominated to be The United States Ambassador to Israel.

Mike has been a great public servant, Governor, and Leader in Faith for many years. He loves Israel, and the people of Israel, and likewise, the people of Israel love him. Mike will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East!”

Known for his strong support of Israel, Huckabee has frequently expressed his commitment to the nation and its people.

If confirmed, he will play a key role in managing U.S.-Israel relations and supporting efforts toward stability in the region.
