If you’re looking for an indicator of how desperate the left’s allies are getting in response to a Rising Trump and a crumbling Biden… here’s a clue.
It would have been easy to report this as a lighthearted moment when a playful pastor teased Trump with a good-natured imitation leading into the benediction. But a narrative won’t sell itself.
With Trump having just added folk-hero & assassination survivor to his already-impressive list of credentials, Biden backers are in a full panic. It was just days ago that the same George Clooney who lent his name and reputation to one of the biggest Dem fundraisers in history publicly only three weeks earlier, publicly called for his resignation.
Then July 13th changed the math completely. Every day seems to bring up more bad news for the incumbent. The only good news for Joe Biden is that the calls for his resignation have dropped off. If indeed it IS ‘good’ news.
Voices from within his own party think recent events have made Trump all but inevitable.
But there’s still an election to be run, and since his enemies have never missed an opportunity to take a swing at The Donald, why would we expect anything to change now? And indeed, it hasn’t.
The event was simple enough. Pastor James Roemke was called upon to open the events at the convention with a benediction. Playfully, he put on his best Trump impersonation, picking up on his famous ‘you are going to get tired of winning’ speech and told the audience how blessed they were going to be.
Trump was a good sport about it, and was seen cracking up during the parody before the entire group took a moment in more serious prayer. The camera scanned the crowd, eyes were closed, heads were bowed, as you might expect…

But the scumbags cherrypicked one image. And guess where they went with it?
They looked for an angle of attack, naturally.
Here we have a Dem journo (notice how she’s tagging all of her favorite TV talking heads to get their attention!) running a 21 second clip filmed from her phone, with people from that same network talking over whatever’s happening at the convention. There is no context whatsoever to indicate whether this is ‘b-roll’ or real-time footage.
Community notes called this out as being taken from the prayer footage. (There was more than one moment of prayer in the event. It was announced that there would be a moment of prayer for the Americans still being held hostage by Hamas at the end of the evening, for example. It’s possible that there may have been others.)

To keep it SUPER-classy, she’s gone as far as highjacking the hashtag for Trump’s assassination to expand the reach of her anti-Trump content.
For anyone not familiar with online culture, that’s a scumbag move of the highest order. Exactly what you’d expect from a low-rent wannabe political operative trying to get noticed by their betters. Here’s a better look at the pic on her avatar:

On the bright side, she gave us a wonderful excuse to talk about a light moment in the convention that many of us would have otherwise missed… myself included.
In a way, we should thank crazy-eyes lady for being so committed to her malice. Some good came out of it despite her best efforts to throw mud at someone she so obviously hates.
Pushing a Trump-is-feeble narrative is one hell of a tough sell after we all saw him taking a bullet and bouncing back to his feet undaunted.
