A Utah courtroom watched newly revealed video footage Wednesday as prosecutors laid out fresh details in the case against Tyler Robinson, the man charged in the fatal shooting of conservative leader Charlie Kirk.
The footage emerged during day three of Robinson’s preliminary hearing, where investigators continued piecing together the timeline of his surrender to law enforcement.
Agent Brian Davis, a case agent with the State Bureau of Investigation, delivered testimony detailing how Robinson ended up in police custody just hours after Kirk was gunned down.
Jurors and courtroom observers watched a brief, soundless video clip capturing Robinson inside an interview room at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The footage carried no audio, but it visually placed Robinson at the scene of his own surrender in the immediate aftermath of the killing.
Davis recounted receiving an urgent phone call at roughly 8:30 p.m. on September 11, 2025, directing him to head to St. George, Utah.
Investigators had learned that someone tied to the shooting was preparing to walk into a sheriff’s office and surrender.
By the time Davis and his colleagues touched down in St. George around 11:30 p.m., Robinson had already been sitting inside the station for hours.
Testimony revealed Robinson first showed up at the Sheriff’s Office at approximately 9 p.m. that night.
He did not arrive alone. Robinson was accompanied by both of his parents, along with someone described as a “family friend.”
That companion was later named during proceedings as Mike Mitchell.
Once on scene, Davis said he engaged directly with Robinson, who identified himself by stating his full name and date of birth.
Investigators didn’t stop there. Robinson’s parents and Mitchell were both brought in for separate interviews with authorities that night.
Davis specifically testified that he took part in questioning Robinson’s mother as part of the broader investigative effort.
The silent clip played for the court served as visual confirmation of Robinson’s whereabouts in the critical hours following Kirk’s death.
Kirk, widely known as the founder of Turning Point USA and a leading voice in conservative political circles, was shot and killed, triggering a massive law enforcement response.
That response culminated in Robinson’s decision to surrender at the Washington County facility, setting off the chain of events now being scrutinized in court.
The preliminary hearing remains active, with additional testimony expected as prosecutors continue building their case timeline.
This remains a developing story, with more details anticipated as the legal proceedings move forward.
