Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) may be on her way out of Congress, but she is still enjoying the perks of the job.
The Georgia congresswoman was spotted soaking up the sun in Costa Rica over Christmas with her new fiancé, Brian Glenn, despite remaining on the congressional payroll weeks after announcing her resignation.
Greene’s final day in office is set for Jan. 5, 2026.
Until then, she continues to receive taxpayer-funded compensation while Congress remains largely inactive for the holidays.
Photos obtained by the Daily Mail show Greene strolling hand in hand with Glenn along the beach on Christmas Day, smiling, relaxed, and clearly in vacation mode.
The couple began dating in 2023 and announced their engagement last week. The timing raised eyebrows, coming just one month after Greene stunned Washington by announcing she would quit Congress following a public falling-out with President Donald Trump.
Greene was sworn into office on January 3, 2021. By stepping down on January 5, 2026, she will have served five years and three days. That timing conveniently qualifies her for a congressional pension worth roughly $9,000 per year.
Critics have accused Greene of timing her resignation to lock in the benefit.
Her last weeks in office appear to include plenty of days off, courtesy of federal holidays and the House’s annual winter recess.
While still officially employed by Congress, Greene was seen shopping at a local Costa Rican market before heading to the beach. Later, she was joined by her children and their partners for what appeared to be a full family holiday getaway.
Greene has not denied the trip.
Instead, she has remained active online, using her time away to continue attacking Trump and defending controversial figures within conservative media.
The resignation followed months of escalating tension between Greene and the president. Once one of Trump’s most vocal allies, she has since accused him of betraying the MAGA base, particularly over his handling of the Epstein files, foreign policy, and health care.
Trump reportedly referred to Greene as a “traitor,” prompting her to escalate her rhetoric.
Despite stepping away from Congress, Greene has shown no intention of stepping out of the political spotlight.
Over Christmas, she rushed to defend Tucker Carlson after backlash erupted over his comments on radical Islam.
“He is a man of sincere faith, loves his family, and our country,” Greene wrote. “America First is winning.”
She also used the holiday to post Bible verses and religious messages, calling the birth of Jesus Christ the “greatest gift to mankind.”
Meanwhile, Greene has warned Republicans eyeing her open seat not to use her as a campaign punching bag.
“Run on your own merits,” she posted. “Don’t throw rocks at me from your self-righteous position. Earn the people’s vote.”
Glenn, a White House reporter for Real America’s Voice, announced the engagement last week after proposing at a Washington restaurant.
“She said yes,” he wrote, adding that he was “getting her out of Washington.”
Greene appears to be doing just that.
With her resignation days away, the congresswoman is already embracing life beyond Capitol Hill. Sun. Sand. And a pension secured on the taxpayer’s dime.
