MTG Ambushed Trump

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) erupted in a furious, profanity-laced tirade after White House aides accused her of triggering a security breach that put President Donald Trump at risk, prompting a reported Secret Service review.

The controversy centers on Trump’s surprise visit to Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab in Washington last September, when Code Pink protesters were able to get unusually close to the president inside the restaurant.

The activists shouted anti-Trump and pro-Palestine slogans from just feet away, raising alarms inside the White House and among federal security officials.

Months later, an Axios report cited unnamed Trump administration aides who claimed Greene tipped off the protest group about the president’s location.

According to those aides, the confrontation marked a breaking point in Trump’s relationship with the former Georgia congresswoman.

Greene forcefully denied the accusation, calling it a complete fabrication and a dangerous smear.

She said the story only surfaced after her relationship with Trump deteriorated and accused White House officials of trying to shift blame away from their own security failures.

She said Axios failed to name sources and insisted there is no proof of any leak. Greene also claimed the Secret Service has never contacted her and that no formal investigation has been confirmed.

The former congresswoman went further, saying the allegation itself puts her in danger. She said she is consulting with attorneys and suggested legal action may be coming, arguing that falsely accusing someone of endangering a president crosses a serious line.

The dispute has been fueled by a widely circulated photo of Greene with Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin.

Greene previously acknowledged a friendly relationship with Benjamin, citing shared opposition to foreign wars. That connection is now being used by critics to suggest coordination between Greene and the protest group.

Greene pushed back hard, saying the relationship was limited and purely based on anti-war votes, per the Daily Mail.

She claimed Benjamin sought her out only because of her positions against U.S. funding for foreign conflicts and said the photo is now being deliberately twisted.

White House aides told Axios they became suspicious after Greene allegedly called staffers multiple times the day of the dinner to confirm Trump’s plans. Officials also pointed to the fact that Greene did not attend the dinner despite recommending the restaurant.

Greene denied knowing when Trump would visit and said the real issue is why the Secret Service failed to properly secure the restaurant. She argued that responsibility lies with federal security, not with her.

Code Pink also denied receiving any tip from Greene. A spokesman for the group called the accusation absurd and said no one warned them about Trump’s dinner plans.

The episode comes as Trump and Greene’s alliance has rapidly deteriorated. After Trump warned her early in his second term that she would likely lose a Georgia Senate race, Greene began publicly accusing the president of abandoning America First principles.

What was once one of Trump’s loudest congressional allies has now become a volatile political liability, with accusations of betrayal, security failures, and internal warfare spilling into public view.
