Megyn Kelly took aim at MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski, accusing her of hypocrisy over her vocal advocacy for women’s rights. Kelly mocked the “Morning Joe” co-host for a provocative magazine shoot from over a decade ago, labeling her as a faux feminist.
Speaking on Sky News Australia with host Paul Murray, Kelly criticized Brzezinski’s Vanity Fair photoshoot from September 2012.
The shoot featured Brzezinski perched on a table in a sleeveless black dress and high heels, with one leg kicked high in the air. In the same shoot, her now-husband and co-host, Joe Scarborough, struck what Kelly described as a “power pose.”
“She’s constantly lecturing us about women’s rights, like she’s this great progressive champion,” Kelly said. The 54-year-old conservative podcast host referred to Brzezinski as “Miss Champion, Miss Feminist” and questioned the sincerity of her advocacy.
To drive her point home, Kelly recreated the Vanity Fair pose on her own podcast, climbing onto her desk in sweatpants to mimic the infamous leg-kick photo.
“I’m so over her nonsense about women’s rights and empowerment,” Kelly said bluntly. “You’re full of it, and everyone knows it.”
Kelly also slammed Brzezinski and Scarborough for their recent meeting with President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
The couple had been outspoken critics of Trump throughout his presidency, frequently referring to him with harsh terms, including “Hitler” and “fascist.” Kelly labeled their sudden shift in tone as opportunistic and motivated by ratings and access to power.
“For eight years, they called him a racist, sexist, and even a rapist,” Kelly said. “Now, suddenly, it’s all forgotten because they want to sit at the table again.”
Kelly expressed disdain for Trump’s decision to meet with the couple, saying it undermined the integrity of their previous criticism. “They don’t deserve his time or attention. They bent the knee because they want access to the White House for ratings,” she argued.
Kelly’s remarks were part of an ongoing feud between her and the “Morning Joe” hosts. On her podcast earlier in the week, she referred to Brzezinski and Scarborough as “dishonest jokes” and questioned their credibility as journalists.
“It’s an absurd farce,” Kelly said. “These are the same people who told their audience they had just elected Hitler and now expect us to believe they’ve had a change of heart.”
Concluding her tirade, Kelly left little doubt about her feelings: “Go f*** yourselves. You’ve shown your true colors, and nobody is buying it anymore.”
The sharp criticism highlights the growing divide between media personalities as they navigate their relationships with Trump in the wake of his reelection.
