Internal planning documents have exposed a coordinated effort by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) to leverage its relationship with newly elected New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani to implement a far-reaching political agenda.
A leaked strategy file from the DSA’s Anti-War Working Group reveals the organization’s intention to establish clear conditions for its continued support of Mamdani’s administration.
Internal meeting notes emphasize the organization’s strategy to communicate expectations to elected officials.
The notes state the group aims to “make it clear to electeds that if they want our support, our priorities matter. Make the terms clear going in, public statement on 1st day. However focus on policies and actions, not statements in response to bad faith questions from press.”
The Nov. 2 document titled “AWWG Palestine Policy Meeting Agenda & Notes,” obtained by Just the News, outlines specific policy demands the DSA expects Mamdani to implement.
These include divesting city pension funds from Israeli bonds and withdrawing city deposits from financial institutions conducting business with Israel. Additional demands call for canceling municipal contracts with companies linked to Israel and prohibiting Israeli products from city-operated grocery stores.
The document also proposes revoking nonprofit status from organizations supporting the Israel Defense Forces.
The plan includes a proposal to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and active IDF officials on allegations of war crimes.
One section instructs supporters to “provide a plan for him to implement” and “pressure him to staff with people whose values are aligned.” The notes describe coordinating with sympathetic legislators and mobilizing campaign volunteers to enforce DSA priorities within City Hall.
Similar ideological requirements appear in DSA endorsement questionnaires from other cities.
Documents from Seattle and Metro DC chapters, obtained by The Ari Hoffman Show on Talk Radio 570 KVI, show comparable demands placed on candidates seeking DSA support.
Mamdani secured over 50 percent of the vote on Tuesday, defeating former New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
Mamdani addressed supporters at Brooklyn’s Paramount Theater after his victory. “I am Muslim. I am a democratic socialist. And most damning of all, I refuse to apologize for any of this,” he told the crowd.
He also directly addressed the president: “Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up!”
The next day,Trump delivered a defiant message to his supporters. “We’ll take care of it, don’t worry about it,” Trump said in a speech, referring to Mamdani.
On Truth Social, the president posted: “My fellow Americans, our movement is far from over, in fact our fight has only just begun.”
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who endorsed Mamdani before the primary, said his victory sends a powerful message to the national Democratic Party. “He was tasked with defeating the old guard of the Democratic Party. It puts those folks on notice. This is about: do you understand the assignment of fighting fascism right now?” she stated, Resist the Mainstream previously reported.
