A conservative media figure is sounding the alarm after witnessing what he calls an unmistakable pattern of violence-promoting behavior at Saturday’s nationwide anti-Trump demonstrations — and new data suggests millions of left-leaning Americans may quietly agree with the sentiment.
Vince Coglianese, editorial director at the Daily Caller, dedicated a segment of his Monday program “VINCE” to footage and statistics he says paint a deeply troubling picture of where the American left currently stands.
The demonstrations, organized under the banner of “No Kings Day,” drew thousands of participants across multiple cities and were aimed squarely at President Donald Trump, his administration, and ICE.
Not all of the protests remained peaceful.
Coglianese wasted no time naming what he believed he was looking at.
“I saw multiple examples of assassination culture this weekend from the ‘No Brains’ protests,” he told viewers.
“You can see it on display. They wear it on their clothing. They wear it on their apparel.”
The distinction he drew between the two political camps was pointed.
“You and I wear things like … an American flag,” he said. “They wear stuff like ‘The Second Amendment is for shooting ICE.’ They spray paint on the side of walls that they want to kill ICE officers.”
To back up the claim, Coglianese rolled footage from Los Angeles, where a crowd of protesters hammered on a barrier separating them from Department of Homeland Security personnel stationed outside the Roybal Federal Building.
Standing among that crowd was a masked individual whose shirt carried the phrase, “The Second Amendment is for shooting ICE.”
The Department of Homeland Security later reported that approximately 1,000 agitators had encircled the building, hurling rocks, glass bottles, and chunks of concrete at officers, according to Fox News Digital.
For Coglianese, the masked protester captured everything he was trying to explain.
“The guy’s got a mask on. He’s got a hat on. He’s concealing his identity,” he said. “This is assassination culture. This is the same left-wing assassination culture that led to assassination attempts on President Trump.”
He went further, connecting that atmosphere to an incident in Texas where he said a sniper climbed to a rooftop position and opened fire on ICE officers, sending rounds through a government vehicle and killing individuals who were in the country illegally.
Coglianese expanded the argument to include additional targets, citing what he described as the same cultural climate behind the assassination of Charlie Kirk and escalating threats against Elon Musk.
The most striking element of the segment came when Coglianese introduced survey data from the Network Contagion Research Institute. According to April findings from that organization, “48% and 55%” of “left of center” respondents reported at least “somewhat justifying murder” directed at Musk and President Trump, respectively.
Coglianese also presented Fox News footage showing a separate individual spray-painting the words “Kill your local ICE agent” across the exterior of a building.
He made clear he saw no equivalence between the two political parties on the issue.
“And it’s long past time that we as a country treat that assassination culture on the left as a real, very imminent and very present threat to our country, to our Republic,” Coglianese said. “There’s no both sides to this issue.”
The “No Kings” movement positions itself publicly as a grassroots resistance to what it describes as authoritarian leadership in America.
A closer look at the organization’s listed partners tells a different story. The Daily Caller has previously reported that several groups formally affiliated with the movement carry documented records of voicing support for violent communist governments operating beyond U.S. borders.
