In the ‘honeymoon period’ where the media are actively trying to frame Kamala as the most bestest candidate ever to run for President, others are trying to frame her too.
Their framing isn’t nearly so friendly.
Hard on the heels of Kamala taking a page from Breadline Bernie’s Soviet buddies’ economic model, she’s promising price controls as she claims that the real reason behind today’s high prices is nothing more than corporate greed. It’s an old trick pushed by governments since forever. But every time they try to do something about it, they hit a surprising roadblock: reality.
For instance:
Corporate price gouging has not been a primary driver of U.S. inflation, according to research published on Monday by economists at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.
While markups for motor vehicles and petroleum products did rise sharply during the 2021-2022 inflation surge, markups across the entire spectrum of U.S. goods and services have been relatively flat during the post-pandemic recovery, the bank’s latest Economic Letter showed.
“As such, rising markups have not been a main driver of the recent surge and subsequent decline in inflation during the current recovery,” wrote the bank’s research chief Sylvain Leduc and colleagues Huiyu Li and Zheng Liu.
Inflation by the Fed’s targeted measure, the year-over-year change in the personal consumption expenditures price index, peaked at 7.1% in June 2022 and has since fallen, registering 2.7% in March.
U.S. President Joe Biden has blamed corporate greed for still-elevated prices, accusing companies of boosting profits by shrinking portion sizes but leaving the selling price unchanged, and by failing to pass on falling costs to consumers. — Reuters
Price controls have been tried before. Usually in communist countries. They fail to solve the problem… 100% of the time. Chavez/Maduro’s Venezuela was one such country.
Appropriately, Trump has started working in the phrase ‘Comrade Kamala‘ to his campaign speeches.
But that’s only ONE of her new nicknames.
The keffiyeh-wearing Gaza-flag waving ‘Genocide Joe’ crowd are showing up in Chicago. They’ve got a brand-new nickname for her too. But this one isn’t quite so friendly.
The DNC hasn’t even started yet and Palestine freaks are walking around Chicago with a banner that says “Killer Kamala”

Killer Kamala… and they’re not saying it in Gen-Z’s ‘slay’ sense, either.
They mean straight-up blood-on-her-hands Killer Kamala. Not in the responsible-for-the-debacle-at-Abbey-Gate sense or the Open-Border-Kills-People sense, or even in the Abortion-stops-a-beating-heart sense.
Nope, they are calling her Killer Kamala in the ‘Genocide Joe’ sense.
And they swiped a favorite line right out of her debate with Mike Pence: the one where she interrupts him and says ‘I’m Speaking’.
Gaza turned that around on her.
The left is right back where they started in deciding whether to appease the astroturfed Gaza marchers bankrolled by foreign money, or Israel who (at the moment) is fighting a war of survival on several fronts. No wonder she’s afraid to face the media. She’s terrified of turning her own base against her.
