Podcasting icon Joe Rogan has publicly endorsed Donald Trump for President, dropping his support alongside a special surprise episode featuring Elon Musk just before the 2024 election.
“The great and powerful @elonmusk. If it wasn’t for him, we’d be in big trouble,” Rogan posted on X, sharing the podcast. “He makes the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear, and I agree with him every step of the way. For the record, yes, that’s an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast.”
During a rally in Pittsburgh, Trump reacted live to the news of Rogan’s endorsement.
Earlier in October, Trump had appeared on Rogan’s show in an episode that amassed tens of millions of views despite reported censorship from major tech platforms. During that episode, Rogan commented on a rising frustration among young people with what he described as “a lot of this woke bullsh*t,” adding, “Young people are tired of being scolded by people they think are mentally ill who tell them what society’s moral standards should be.”
He continued, “The rebels are Republicans now. Like, you want to be a rebel? You want to be punk rock? You want to buck the system? You’re a conservative now. The liberals are now pro-censorship, talking about regulating free speech. It’s bananas to watch.”
Responding to Rogan’s critique of censorship from some Democrats, Trump remarked, “Joe, they come after their political opponents. I’ve been investigated more than Al Capone,” referencing his ongoing legal battles—a point he’s echoed frequently on the campaign trail.
During the new podcast episode, Rogan and Musk touched on Trump’s de-platforming following the January 6 events, calling it “wild.” Musk pointed out that Trump had posted messages urging calm on the day, saying, “do not riot, don’t do any destruction of property,” yet was still banned. “People said that was some sort of dog whistle, that he meant the opposite,” Musk remarked. “I’m like, okay, so if you want, we’ll give you Trump’s account, and you can post what you think he should have posted. He could post nothing, he could ask people to calm down… It was wild. It didn’t make any sense.”
With Election Day nearing, the conversation and Rogan’s endorsement have generated considerable buzz, adding a unique dimension to Trump’s campaign momentum as he seeks to rally his base for a crucial final push.
