Human Events released undercover footage showing a campaign organizer for Virginia gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger laughing and rolling her eyes while discussing the murder of Charlie Kirk.
The video was recorded on Sept. 16, just six days after Kirk’s death.
The footage features Maame Ama Deegbe, a campaign organizer for Spanberger, responding to questions about the atmosphere in Virginia following Kirk’s murder.
Spanberger is currently running against Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears for the position of governor of Virginia.
In the video, a man sitting with Deegbe at a restaurant describes Virginia as “a little bit of a hot spot for everything” and references the “far right” situation being “crazy right now.”
Deegbe responded by saying she cannot “legally talk about the Charlie thing” but expressed willingness to hear the man’s thoughts on the matter.
The man stated he tries to stay away from news to formulate his own opinions, adding that “obviously, death is terrible.”
Deegbe responded with “Fair” before the conversation continued.
When asked for her opinion, Deegbe laughed and shook her hair before stating, “I would be sad if you had died, I don’t think I would—I’ll leave it there.”
She appeared to believe she had found someone who shared her views on Kirk.
Deegbe told the man, “You seem like a good person,” and when questioned about whether she could say the same for Kirk, she rolled her eyes.
She again said, “I’ll just leave that there.”
The organizer then discussed the campaign’s official stance on the matter.
“Our stance on it for the most part has been we denounce political violence—” she said while laughing.
She added, “And we are staying very far away from it.”
Despite multiple scandals affecting her campaign, Spanberger currently leads in polling.
With election day approaching, the race has tightened to single digits.
Earle-Sears holds 43 percent of voters compared to Spanberger’s 52 percent.
This is not the first time Deegbe has been caught on video making controversial statements.
A previous video was leaked, prompting Deegbe to delete her LinkedIn profile.
That footage, shared by Fox News Digital, showed Deegbe expressing doubts about the candidate she was working to elect.
In the earlier video, Deegbe described Spanberger as a “CIA agent, literally, which is crazy, like yeah, vote for the CIA agent, guys, like what the f*ck.”
She stated, “I don’t know what happened. We’re in, like, the darkest timeline.”
Deegbe also made controversial comments about Earle-Sears in that video.
“Our only choices are between a black woman, which ordinarily all for, but this time you think we should bring back slavery, Winsome. … Even with that, it’s like either vote for the black woman who thinks that slavery should be brought back or vote for the White woman who was in the CIA,” she said.
The organizer characterized political campaigns as a “really big pyramid scheme” but acknowledged they pay her “really, really good money.”
She described feeling disconnected from the work, comparing it to being in The Wizard of Oz with everything happening “behind the smoke and mirrors and curtains.”
Spanberger continues to support Jay Jones for Virginia Attorney General despite revelations that he called for the shooting of a GOP colleague and that colleague’s children.
Jones called the man and his wife “evil” and “fascist” and suggested that the murder of their children might change the colleague’s views on gun control, Resist the Mainstream has reported.
Earle-Sears raised this issue during a debate with Spanberger.
Instead of addressing Jones’ violent rhetoric, Spanberger remained silent and refused to respond to her opponent.
Democrat Party chapters subsequently shared cartoons depicting Earle-Sears as a crazed person for questioning Spanberger’s position on Jones’ statements.
