Illegal immigrant arrested on child sex trafficking charges in Alabama

An illegal immigrant has been arrested in Alabama on multiple felony charges related to child sex crimes and human trafficking, according to a report by WBMA.

Enoc Velazquez Bravo, a 32-year-old from Mexico, was apprehended by Argo police during a traffic stop on August 26 in St. Clair County. Bravo is currently being held in jail without bond, authorities confirmed.

The charges against Bravo include first-degree human trafficking, possession of a fraudulent instrument, facilitating the travel of a child for an unlawful sex act, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, and electronic solicitation of a child, as outlined in court records.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has been notified of Bravo’s arrest. Police indicated that Bravo had been living in Kentucky before his arrest.

The arrest occurred around 1 a.m. Monday on I-59 near the 148-mile marker in St. Clair County when Argo police pulled Bravo over for an altered vehicle tag. Further investigation during the stop led to the serious charges now levied against him.

The Argo Police Department stated that the investigation is ongoing, with collaboration from several state, federal, and local law enforcement agencies.

Due to the sensitive nature of the case, the Argo Police Department said they would release additional details at a later time.
