What if the 25th Amendment was NOT the hammer being used to bully Joe Biden into going away quietly?
Trump debate flop or no, it was no secret what condition Joe Biden’s head is in, especially to the insiders themselves. The Robert Hur report made it impossible to keep hiding that forever.
Joe running as an incumbent set up a wonderful Trojan Horse opportunity for the DNC establishment, letting the power-brokers squabble over who would be Joe’s rightful heir long after any ambitious outsider (like RFK) was prevented from winning meaningful public support.
The rules of evidence would have required that Hunter’s defense team know the prosecution had this evidence under consideration. Which means that it wouldn’t have taken much for whispers of the political ramifications of this case to spread among party brass.
The 25th Amendment makes the whole party, and everyone who protected him look bad. What if the threat wasn’t that at all? What if the threat was allowing criminal charges to taint his own legacy, allowing history to record him as a corrupt and addled chump, rather than a champion of Woke and the Green New Deal? Notice what’s missing from this report:
Prosecutors in the U.S. criminal tax case against Hunter Biden accused him of accepting payments from a Romanian businessman who sought to “influence U.S. government agencies” in connection with a criminal probe in Romania.
The U.S. Department of Justice made the allegation in a Wednesday filing in Los Angeles federal court, where U.S. President Joe Biden’s son faces a scheduled Sept. 9 trial over tax evasion charges. He has pleaded not guilty.
ABC said the claim stems from Hunter Biden’s work for Gabriel Popoviciu, a wealthy Romanian identified as “G.P.” in the filing, and who prosecutors say hired Hunter Biden for legal work in late 2015 when Joe Biden was U.S. vice president.

In the filing, prosecutors said they plan to present evidence that Hunter Biden and a business associate “received compensation from a foreign principal who was attempting to influence U.S. policy and public opinion and cause the United States to investigate the Romanian investigation of G.P. in Romania.”
Hunter Biden and the business associate “were concerned that lobbying work might cause political ramifications for the defendant’s father,” and Hunter Biden wanted to conceal the “true nature” of his work for G.P., prosecutors added. — Reuters
You notice how there’s nary a reference to FARA violations?
In the Trump years, they were handing out FARA charges the way parade floats toss candy to the crowds. But Hunter gets $3M from a Romanian oligarch to influence politcs while his daddy is Veep? And there’s crickets.
Kinda weird, no?
Jonathan Turley surely thinks so — and has said as much on TV:
JONATHAN TURLEY: It’s very frustrating for many of us who have been writing for years, that we don’t understand why there was not a charge under FARA for being an unregistered foreign agent. This record is replete with contracts, so it seemed to meet the standard used in earlier cases during the Trump administration. You couldn’t have an official go to Epcot without getting a FARA charge from the Justice Department. It seemed to be one of the most ubiquitous charges coming out of that department. With Hunter Biden, they have consistently ignored overwhelming evidence that he was receiving millions to influence policy. So now, after all that time, Weiss files this thing with the courts saying, oh, well, yeah, we know that he was directing this stuff because he was getting money to influence U.S. policy from this Romanian. And it left everyone scratching their heads. It’s like saying we can prove auto theft because we know he used it in the kidnaping. And the question is, well, why didn’t you charge him on the kidnaping?
Why, indeed?
It’s like asking why Cheadle wanted to disappear all evidence of the cocaine found in the White House… until someone stopped her. That person found themselves getting the short end of the stick from management from then on.
Or like asking Mayorkas for straight answers on the child sex trafficking his open border policies have resulted in, or what the wrist bands mean… he feigns ignorance rather than admit he’s pumping billions into the cartels.
FARA somehow has NOT found its way into the conversation with Hunter’s criminal cases… because that would necessarily implicate Joe himself.
There was a lot of talk about insiders using leverage to push Joe out. Was the deal struck to keep FARA charges off the table if Joe plays ball with the Dems?
If that’s what really played out, the DOJ could be even more weaponized than we thought… rather than just being partisan hacks… it could have already morphed into something like what Stalin had going on, where it was responsive directly to the will of whoever really held the levers of power in the party.
If so, it’s even more important that new leadership cleans house and rips out the rotten wood, even if it means ripping some of our alphabet institutions down and starting over.
