Paris Hilton has publicly responded to explosive allegations that convicted sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell attempted to recruit her for Jeffrey Epstein two decades ago, firmly stating she has no memory of ever meeting the disgraced socialite.
The hotel heiress, now 44, was reportedly just 19 years old when Maxwell allegedly spotted her at a party and identified her as someone who would be “perfect” for Epstein, according to claims that first surfaced in 2020.
Maxwell, who dated Epstein for several years during the 1990s, was reportedly searching parties for young women to introduce to the notorious financier.
She was later convicted and sentenced for serving as Epstein’s “chief recruiter” and participating in his sex trafficking operation.
In a recent interview with the Sunday Times magazine, Hilton addressed the allegations head-on.
“I don’t even remember ever meeting her,” the mother of two stated.
She suggested that her involvement in the media coverage may have been amplified due to her celebrity status.
“I’m such a good clickbait name,” Hilton remarked.
The original claims about Maxwell’s alleged interest in Hilton came from Christopher Mason, a former friend of the British socialite.
Mason, a British journalist based in New York who has known Maxwell since the 1980s, made the allegations during a 2020 docuseries titled Surviving Jeffrey Epstein.
Maxwell stopped in her tracks upon seeing a young Hilton at a party and exclaimed “oh my god,” according to Mason’s account.
Maxwell then reportedly told a friend that Hilton would be “perfect for Jeffrey” and requested an introduction.
While Mason did not provide a specific date for the alleged encounter, it appears to have occurred around 2000. At that time, Hilton had just signed with Donald Trump’s modeling agency, T management, and was beginning her rise to fame.
The encounter would have taken place when Hilton was approximately 19 years old and on the verge of becoming a household name. A photograph from the Anand Jon Fashion Show in New York on September 18, 2000, shows Trump, Hilton and Maxwell together, the Daily Mail reported.
Maxwell first met Epstein in the early 1990s after relocating to New York following the death of her father, disgraced newspaper baron Robert Maxwell.
Mason described how people were “puzzled” by the relationship between Maxwell and Epstein, who dated during the 1990s.
“The rumours were Ghislaine was scouring New York finding younger girls to go on dates with Jeffrey. At the time it seemed a bit naughty,” Mason stated in the documentary.
Meanwhile, President Trump has reversed his position and called on House Republicans to vote for releasing documents related to Epstein, known as the Epstein Files. The move marks a dramatic shift from his previous stance on the matter.
President Trump has publicly broken with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) over her push to unseal the Epstein documents. The Georgia congresswoman, previously one of Trump’s most loyal supporters, said her life is now in danger after the president’s harsh criticism.
Trump called Greene “a ranting lunatic” and “Marjorie Traitor Greene” on Truth Social, accusing her of betraying the Republican Party. Greene responded on Saturday, saying Trump’s comments triggered threats against her and were “hurtful.”
“Those are the types of words that can radicalise people against me and put my life in danger,” Greene said. Trump dismissed her concerns on Sunday, telling reporters he did not believe anyone was targeting her.
Greene told CNN that Trump calling her a traitor was the “most hurtful” part of his remarks. Trump repeated the insult later that day, referring to her as “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Greene.”
She attributed their split to her support for releasing the Epstein Files, which Trump had previously dismissed as a “hoax” pushed by Democrats. However, on Sunday night, Trump reversed course.
“House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it’s time to move on from this Democrat Hoax perpetrated by Radical Left Lunatics,” the president wrote.
