Historic Trump Snub Shocks All

President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance were shockingly snubbed from former Vice President Dick Cheney’s funeral.

The move raised eyebrows all across the U.S. and marked a significant break from tradition.

Trump notably attended the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter on Jan. 9, 2025, just days before he was sworn into office.

The president sat alongside his longtime political rival, former President Barack Obama.

However, this time around, neither he nor his vice president was invited to attend the funeral of a Republican vice president who served with George W. Bush.

When he first entered politics, Trump hammered the Bush family over their foreign policy, particularly regarding the 9/11 terror attacks and the war in Iraq.

Trump defeated George Bush’s brother, Jeb, in the 2016 GOP primary.

Trump clashed with Jeb Bush on stage many times and repeatedly mocked him as “low energy.” During a GOP presidential debate moment that went viral, Trump told Jeb to be “quiet” and called him a “lightweight.”

Trump’s clash with the Bush family also extended to the man who led America through 9/11.

In a 2016 presidential debate moderated by CBS News, Trump eviscerated the former president for getting America involved in Iraq over claims of weapons capable of committing mass destruction.

“Obviously, the war in Iraq was a big, fat mistake, right?” Trump said. Now, you can take it any way you want. And it took Jeb Bush, if you remember, at the beginning of his announcement, when he announced for president, it took him five days. He went back. It was a mistake. It wasn’t a mistake. It took him five days before his people told him what to say. And he ultimately said it was a mistake.”

“The war in Iraq, we spent two trillion dollars, [lost] thousands of lives. We don’t even have it. Iran is taking over Iraq with the second largest oil reserves in the world,” Trump added.

Trump’s snub from the Cheney funeral could very likely have resulted from the president’s fierce war with the former vice president’s daughter, Liz Cheney, as the Daily Mail reported.

Cheney was a fierce critic of the president and notably served on the Jan. 6 committee, which claimed that Trump “incited an insurrection” at the Capitol.

Trump has referred to Cheney as “disgusting” and celebrated the former Wyoming Republican’s historic 33-point loss to MAGA ally Harriet Hageman in 2022.

In 2024, Trump released a statement on Truth Social, claiming that Cheney’s actions on the Jan. 6 committee were criminal.

“She is so unpopular and disgusting, a real loser!” Trump said at the time.

Before his death, Cheney called Trump a threat to the U.S.

“In our nation’s 246 year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump,” the late vice president said in a video. “He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him.”
