Katie Pavlich is leaving Fox News after more than a decade to take on a new challenge at NewsNation.
The longtime Townhall editor and Fox News contributor announced Monday she will host a new weekday program at 10 p.m. starting in 2026.
NewsNation released details of the hire in a press statement on Monday.
The move represents Pavlich’s first prime time hosting position despite her extensive broadcast experience.
Pavlich has been with Townhall for 16 years and served as a Fox News contributor since 2013.
Fox News has confirmed that Pavlich no longer holds a contributor role with the network.
During her time at Fox News, Pavlich regularly guest hosted “The Five” and made appearances on multiple prime time programs.
“I am honored to join NewsNation during this dynamic period in its development, and the opportunity to anchor a primetime program is an exceptional privilege,” Pavlich said.
She expressed enthusiasm about her new role and the platform it will provide.
“I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective on the news to Americans across the country, while presenting a venue for thoughtful debate across a wide spectrum of opinions,” Pavlich said.
She described the opportunity as having “a front row seat to history.”
“I can’t wait to buckle in and get started,” Pavlich added.
Pavlich plans to address multiple subject areas in her new program, according to NewsNation’s announcement.
Her coverage will include free speech, immigration, culture and foreign policy.
Sean Compton serves as president of Nextstar Networks, the parent company of NewsNation.
Compton welcomed Pavlich to the network with praise for her journalistic credentials.
“We’re pleased to give our primetime viewers an additional hour of political news and analysis that helps them make sense of the day’s most important headlines,” Compton said.
He emphasized NewsNation’s commitment to a particular style of journalism.
“NewsNation has always been committed to delivering straightforward, fact-based journalism for all Americans, which includes presenting diverse viewpoints and original ideas,” Compton said.
“Katie is a seasoned journalist and commentator, and we believe her unique voice will be a tremendous asset to our primetime audience,” he added.
The addition of Pavlich expands NewsNation’s prime time lineup.
Her program will air at 10 p.m. on weekdays beginning next year.
NewsNation has been working to build its roster of recognizable personalities as it competes in the cable news space.
The network positions itself as an alternative to other major cable news outlets.
Pavlich’s departure marks a significant shift after her long tenure with Fox News and Townhall.
Her new show will debut in 2026, giving the network time to prepare for the launch.
