Fox News Icon Drops Life-Changing News at WH

Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy has announced the arrival of his third child, sharing the heartwarming news alongside a memorable story about how his daughter’s impending birth nearly interrupted a live television appearance.

Doocy, 39, and his wife, Fox Business correspondent Hillary Vaughn, 37, welcomed their daughter, Molly Kate Doocy, on October 22, officially expanding their family to five.

The newborn joins her older sister Bridget, 3, and brother George, 18 months.

The couple confirmed the news Sunday, revealing that both mother and daughter were doing well.

“We are so grateful she is here,” Doocy told PEOPLE, celebrating what he called “Doocy, Party of Five.”

Molly Kate arrived at 10:04 p.m., weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces, several days after her expected due date.

But her arrival began with an unexpected twist during her father’s busy morning covering the White House.

Doocy was preparing for a live Fox News report at approximately 9 a.m. when Vaughn called with an urgent message: Their baby was on the way.

The timing could hardly have been more dramatic.

The call came just one minute before Fox News anchors were scheduled to introduce Doocy for his live segment.

Suddenly, the correspondent found himself balancing two very different responsibilities — delivering his report and getting to his wife.

“I don’t think I’ve ever talked through a script so fast,” Doocy recalled.

After completing the broadcast, he quickly collected his belongings and hurried away from the White House.

He later joked that his sudden dash toward the gates probably caught the attention of nearby Secret Service personnel.

Fortunately, the hectic morning ended with a happy outcome.

Later that evening, Vaughn gave birth to Molly Kate, bringing another daughter into the family.

The couple described the experience as an emotional milestone.

“Our hearts are bursting with joy,” Vaughn told PEOPLE. “She is adored from head to toe.”

Doocy also found humor in the timing of the birth, particularly given his work covering politics during the final stretch of the 2026 midterm elections.

“She arrived a few days after the due date — but just in time for midterm election results,” he joked.

The elections are scheduled for November 3, giving the Fox News correspondent another major event to cover less than two weeks after welcoming his daughter.

At home, however, the biggest developments have little to do with Washington.

Doocy said the family’s house immediately “felt ten times more full” once Molly Kate arrived and settled into her nursery.

Introducing the newborn to her older siblings also produced an unforgettable moment, per the Conservative Brief.

According to Vaughn, the couple had eagerly anticipated the first meeting between Molly Kate, Bridget and George.

But the introduction didn’t unfold quite as planned.

George began crying when he saw his new baby sister, prompting Molly Kate to cry as well.

Bridget nearly joined the commotion, turning the emotional family introduction into a chaotic scene familiar to parents of young children.

The couple laughed about the experience, describing it as an example of the unpredictable realities of raising toddlers.

Since then, George has adjusted to his new role as an older brother.

Bridget, meanwhile, is already excited about having a younger sister and has begun looking forward to sharing her collection of hair bows.

The latest arrival marks another milestone for the couple, who met while working at Fox.

Doocy built his career as a Fox News correspondent, while Vaughn established herself as a reporter for Fox Business.

They married in South Carolina in April 2021.

Their first child, Bridget, arrived in February 2023, followed by George in April 2025.

George’s birthday happened to coincide with the couple’s fourth wedding anniversary.

At the time, Doocy joked that the shared date provided an excellent reminder to purchase his wife an anniversary card.

Molly Kate also joins a family with another familiar television personality.

Her grandfather is longtime Fox & Friends host Steve Doocy, who has previously spoken about the joy of becoming a grandparent.

Steve has described grandparenthood as an opportunity to shower grandchildren with unconditional love and, naturally, plenty of spoiling.

With three young children now at home, Peter Doocy and Hillary Vaughn are beginning another chapter of family life.

And although the correspondent is accustomed to unexpected developments at the White House, his daughter’s arrival delivered a surprise far more personal than anything on his usual political beat.
