FBI Leaders Fired in Bombshell Shake-Up

In an act of defiance against the left, the Trump administration has terminated three senior FBI officials responsible for the bureau’s investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol protests.

Such a move has sent shockwaves across Washington, D.C.

Former acting FBI director Brian Driscoll, a 20-year veteran at the agency, announced his termination in an email to colleagues, according to the Conservative Brief.

“Last night I was informed that tomorrow will be my last day in the FBI,” he said.

“I understand that you may have a lot of questions regarding why, for which I currently have no answers,” he added.

Alongside Driscoll, former Assistant Washington Field Office Director Steven Jensen and Veteran Special Agent Walter Giardina were also fired.

Dirscoll’s firing notably comes months after the Department of Justice (DOJ) requested that he submit a list of all FBI officials who were involved in the Jan. 6 investigations.

“This request encompasses thousands of employees across the country who have supported these investigative efforts. I am one of those employees,” Driscoll said upon receiving the order.

Driscoll concluded the email to his colleagues with an appreciative tone of their work.

“It has been the honor of my life to serve alongside each of you. Thank you for allowing me to stand on your shoulders throughout it all. Our collective sacrifices for those we serve is, and will always be, worth it. I regret nothing. You are my heroes and I remain in your debt,” he said.

Driscoll served as acting FBI director while Kash Patel underwent the confirmation process in the Senate, as NBC News reported.

Like Driscoll, Jensen revealed his termination in an email dated Aug. 8.

Jensen headed the Washington Field Office, which is central to the Jan. 6 investigations.

“I intend to meet this challenge like any other I have faced in this organization, with professionalism, integrity, and dignity.” he said. “Never waver in your resolve to answer the call to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution. Continue to be bold and aggressive in the pursuit of justice. Most importantly, stay safe and take care of each other. Be the FBI.”

Jensen’s firing came just two months after he was appointed to lead the D.C. field office in June.

The three firings come nearly a year after the Trump administration fired David Sundberg, an FBI Senior Executive in Washington, D.C.

Sundberg was responsible for investigating the Jan. 6 protests as well as the pipe bombs that were placed near the Republican National Committee (RNC) a day before the mass protests.

In response to the latest shake-up at the FBI, the bureau’s Agents Association released a statement criticizing the moves.

“Agents are not given the option to pick and choose their cases, and these Agents carried out their assignments with professionalism and integrity. Most importantly, they followed the law. If these Agents are fired without due process, it makes the American people less safe,” the group said.
