A man who said he drove more than 1,000 miles to marry OnlyFans creator Sophie Rain tried to grab her after she rejected his approach, according to a member of her team.
The encounter happened in May at the Mondrian South Beach hotel during Miami Swim Week, the New York Post reported. Rain was making her runway debut at the event when the man approached her in the lobby.
Connor McCrory, Rain’s close friend and marketing head, told the newspaper that the man claimed he had traveled from New York specifically to find her and intended to marry her.
“He had apparently traveled from New York to Miami specifically to find Sophie. That immediately raised serious concerns for everyone around her,” McCrory said.
McCrory said the man’s stated intentions distinguished the encounter from a fan asking for a photograph. The situation escalated when he tried to grab Rain after she turned him down.
“At that point, our only priority was getting her away from him and making sure she was safe,” he said.
“When someone says they traveled that far to marry a person they have never met and then tries to grab her, you cannot treat that as harmless excitement. It has to be taken seriously.”
Rain’s team did not call police about the hotel encounter, according to McCrory. They notified hotel staff so employees would know about the man if he stayed at the property or returned.
“We wanted staff to be aware of the situation in case he remained on or returned to the property,” McCrory said.
The account emerged as Rain’s team confronted a separate security concern involving Connor Litka, the man accused of stalking her who broke into a Florida house she was renting last year.
Rain had returned from Super Bowl parties to find smashed windows and Litka inside the rental property in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to the Post’s Wednesday report.
Litka was reported missing from an Indiana crisis center Wednesday. Court documents cited in the Post’s report said he told an employee he wanted to return to “Florida to be with Sophie.”
He also described Rain as his girlfriend and claimed they had taken a “blood oath.” Rain denied taking an oath or having a personal relationship with him, TMZ reported.
McCrory said Friday that Rain’s team still had no update on Litka’s whereabouts. Her security arrangements have expanded, including hiring multiple off-duty police officers to accompany her wherever she travels.
McCrory said Rain wants Litka to receive appropriate treatment and care while her team continues taking precautions to protect her.
Rain, a Miami native, has 15.4 million TikTok followers and owns a 20-acre farm in Central Florida, according to the Post.
The newspaper described her as one of OnlyFans’ five highest earners, bringing in about $45 million annually. Rain has publicly said she remains a virgin and limits her material to suggestive content.
“It’s starting to cost close to $50,000 a month just for security because of stalking incidents,” McCrory said.
